View Full Version : While you're looking at the warden tree....about the fury bush

I think fully as many, if not more, people complain to me in groups about my Hibernate spell's graphic as do about the warden's tree. When you post a thread in a class forum asking for comments on what a spell should be named, and receive not one response about the actual spell name, but many posts saying "Call it whatever the #$% you like as long as you take the tree growing out of our group's heads away", then perhaps there is an issue with the spell graphic in question. I am frequently asked how to get rid of the spell effect, and really, as long as you have any spell or particle effects on at all, you can't.

I'm not sure what would be a viable alternative, perhaps some nice autumn colored swirling leaves floating around the players for a bit (versus hot's green ones) and sinking to the floor when the spell timer expires. I wouldn't mind having the effect remain on as a visual for the ten seconds before expiration either.....it would be a nice way for the tank to tell that well, his ten seconds to pull is, um.....not really ten seconds. More like 12....or 15......or 20.....

how bout just ditch the root and brocolli top and just leave the wood skin look till the heal hits?

Considering it's our fast, very low power, efficient class-defining heal.

Yes please! Change the graphic of this spell. I like the idea of the leaves, but I'd settle for just the wood skin overlay. Anything but other than an alien brocolli head.

P.S. Even if you run minimal/zero/zero/zero/zero partical effects that tree STILL shoes up it seems.

Yes, the rotten brocolli spouting out of our heads is annoying, and quite frankly looks nothing like a tree... just like old, spoiled vegetables...
