the greatest weakness I currently come across, is basically just mobs.

anytime theres more then 1 thing to kill, my parse is easily cut in half. I just run out of combat arts, my chains finished, and then I got a long wait for them to come back with only my autoattacks and random rarely used skills to keep my DPS ok, like resourceful weapon, or point blank shot.

say when killing gynok, my job is usually to stay on the adds till either Nax or Vin are down - my role changes alittle with what DPS classes we got on that day. but after they go down, I get on gynok, but by the time I am able to get on gynok, it feels like every CA I got is greyed out and I got a long wait before I can start really doing any real damage.

it comes down to my basic issue - AOE fights seem to drain me of my skills to fast, and its hard to keep DPS up. I did try a AOE spec with the STA line recently - but that didnt really seem to help much. I usually use a /assist OT macro and try to kill what he's currently working on, but since its more then 1 target, he switchs targets alot to maintain aggro on all the adds. I understand his role - I been a raid berserker for about 2 years myself. but at the same time, its amajor kill on my DPS to have to run to the back of one add, then to another every 10% or so.

so I was considering just ignoring his target, and staying on one target long enough to either get alot of DPS on it, or untill my aggro hits near 90, then change to another target. so I can try to stay as much on single target damage as possible.

or just plain old go moderate on DPS the whole time on adds, leaving frontload and concealment lines alone, till I can get on gynok.

anyways - I been a raiding assassin for about 5-6 weeks now. I was asked to create a assassin, cause our guild needed one. we can clear tombs, get to mynzok in palace, all ROK content easily cleared. in palace lately I been getting top 2-3 for the parse. in tombs I do ok but knock back on trash and so much jousting kills my DPS in there, so I ususally end up behind our casters. about half my skills are masters, and I do have 200 aa.

I have some great assassins helping me learn the class, and spent tons of time on training dummys coming up with the best CA lines I could.

I am not a expert on the class, but I do learn fast. I appreciate any help offered, as AOE fights are where I feel I am having the biggest trouble figuring out how to handle them DPS wise.

If you use /assist OT name then you don't switch targets with him unless you are targetting through him. For multimob encounters it's better for the OT to assist the MA while he cycles through the encounter.

As for greying out CA's. Try to get +reuse speed (RE scout cloak for instance) and Ritual of Alacrity (shaman aa ability) and Jester's Cap (troub) as much as possible.

Kunaak wrote:

I usually use a /assist OT macro and try to kill what he's currently working on, but since its more then 1 target, he switchs targets alot to maintain aggro on all the adds.
