After downloading the latest hotfix, I am being kicked to character select when zoning. Once I am kicked, I cannot log that character back in. If I exit the application, delete my Cache folder and .ini files, I can log back in. However, once I zone, I get kicked all over again and the cycle continues. This all started after the latest hotfix.

Can someone please shed some light on this issue? It seems like nobody else on my server is having this issue. I have been playing trouble-free for months until this latest hotfix.

- Firewall is off

- I live in Malaysia, if that counts for anything..

Thanks for your time.

Does it give you an error message when you get dropped while zoning? Specifically, I'm wandering if it gives you an 'login rejected' message. Several people have contacted me though PM over the last 2 days reporting this issue. It's not the old login rejected bug so I'm still trying to figure out why it is happening. Let me know what error message you are seeing, if any.

This is not anything new.

Getting kicked to char.select while attempting to zone has been here for a couple of weeks now.

Random chars, acc's and zones it still happens.

Restarting the game is the only way to get back on that character even if it takes a try or two.

Trying to get back from caracter select without shutting down the game only gives "The server did not respond in a

bla bla "

I have a similar problem. Downloaded the trial 3 days ago, and often lag out when entering zones - certain ones more than others (Nektulos, Sinking Sands, Down Below - haven't got further yet!)

The issue is eventually resolved after several attempts - closing the game, and reopening.

same problem here, stuck in a loop trying to log in. Worked fine this morning but i tried logging in when char is in Nektulos only to constantly be booted to character screen. Tried deleteing nek files and redownloading, clearing cache, rebooting, nothing works.

It gets to "receiving zone info" sits there for a bit then boots me to char select.

Would be nice to be able to play sometime soon. please

Greetings,

If you're getting dropped to character select instead of desktop then it's very likely that you're experiencing a router issue. If you're using a router then please try bypassing it so that your computer is plugged directly into the modem. Try logging in again after doing so and if the problem has stopped then we'll need to get that router set up for port forwarding.

Will try it in a minute, but why would it suddenly do that after 3 years of faultless working? Whats changed at your end as nothing has changed here.

Plus i can start a new character and that zones into the newbie zone without a problem. I just seem to be stuck trying to log in Nektulos with my main.

Actually i dont have a seperate router, its all built into the modem box. So whats this port forwarding thing?

Extremely frustrating today, was playing fine right up until a seemingly random zone into West Freeport, where I keep hanging on "Waiting for entities".

Which ports do I need to forward?

All ports we recommend you set up for forwarding are as follows:

---

EverQuest II LaunchPad and Patch Servers A TCP connection is initiated from the LaunchPad client port > 1023 to patch.station.sony.com port 7000. A UDP connection is initiated from the LaunchPad client port > 1023 to sdlaunchpad1.station.sony.com and sdlaunchpad2.station.sony.com port range 3016-3021 and 9700-9703.EverQuest II Patch:A TCP connection is initiated from the EverQuest II client port > 1023 to patch.everquest2.com, abepatch.everquest2.com, laepatch.everquest2.com, or amspatch.everquest2.com at port 7010. Some of the above patchers resolve to multiple IP addresses, so if you have a strict outbound firewalling policy, be sure to check for all IP addresses using a DNS lookup tool.EverQuest II Game Client:UDP connections are initiated from the EverQuest II client port >1023 to servers on UDP ports 9100, and UDP ports in the range 32800-33000. Additionally, ICMP messages type 0 (echo reply), 3 (unreachable), 8 (echo request) and 11 (expired) should be permitted bi-directionally between the client PC and the EverQuest II servers.
