Ok so I won the monitor / 3d vision combo... Again THANK YOU so much SOE, and PNY / Nvidia. To show my thanks on july 1st I bought a new PNY GeForce card.
My only problem now is, PNY / Nvidia were at SOE Fanfair, and saying that Sony games are supported, yet on there website it has no info for SOE Games, and no profiles for in-game. I am unable to fix the depth on glasses enough to sync the images together. Now the reason i'm posting here is because i'm unable to post on Nvidia's website, for some reason it says access not allowed. I figured they were at fanfair, they gave it to me, maybe there is someone monitoring the fourms or if there is someone from SOE who might be able to get in contact with someone.

I love the glasses and the monitor, heh i almost droped the glasses on the stage cause i was so excited. I never win anything and this just blew me away. Again thank you, and you will def. see my g/f and I next yr and many more after that at SOE Fanfair..

That was such an awesome setup! Only thing was on eq2 the UI seemed outa focus, the rep there said it was a bug they were trying to work out. Fix that tho and I would be tempted to shell out for the 3d experience

Wow.....I really hope to hear that this is resolved well for the OP.....!

on a more mercenary side: I'm interested in buying this 3D nvidia stuff (saw a demo with TomRaidr which sold me on the concept). However, I have stepped back from purchasing 'cause my favorite online game (EQ2) is unconfirmed regarding its status with this new technology. Conflicting stories everywhere.

Would an SoE dev like to step up and resolve the issue with an official statement?

I'm still waiting on a response on this end. I would recommend, at this point, contacting Nvidia support through their site and explain your scenario to them as well. It's possible the necessary information is something they keep specifically for now.

Hey KenC ....thanks for the reply....you da man!

I'm on the trail of the Nvidia devs, as you suggest! Meanwhile please keep in touch.....

I think you need a monitor that can handle 120Hz refresh rate for it to work right, atleast it was so in the specifications i have seen.

Nagel

Yes it has to be a monitor that has a 120 refresh or any hd ready (hdmi) monitor or tv.

Alright guy we need to band togerther here... I need help as much as you do, if you want to be able to use these in EQ2, they need to finish building a profile for the game. Everyone please start asking what the deal is on the profile on my current post....

http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showforum=40

Maybe if we can get them to really pay attition to us, they will get it out sooner then later. I have these glasses sitting here collecting dust at this point.

So Nvidia did come out with the new driver set which has the support for EQ2, and EQ, FreeRealms..

They are new so there is stuff they will have to work out (I'm hopeing), depth control and what not. It looks GREAT thou, even with the stuff they have to fix. I'll keep you all informed if they fine tune the profile for eq2 and what not.

Glad to hear the base profiles for the games have been released! I only wish screenshots could convey that kind of graphical effect.

Hi guys. Autenil and I talked with the nVidia guys at Fan Faire and took a look at EQII running on their 3D hardware. With no support from us, the game already looks pretty good. The biggest issue is that the interface has a slight depth associated with it, so it doesn't render at screen depth, but a little deeper.

In order to resolve these issues, we'd have to do some work here on our end. We haven't yet been given any development hardware but I'm sure one of us on the team would enjoy taking a look at this when we do.

Okay SoE, please give Rothgar and KenC a raise! Thanks for following up guys!

....and to Biliob....glad to hear that the 3D is working! Grats on your prize!!

....for me....well, I've almost saved up enough for the hardeware! Looking forward to seeing in 3D soon.

edited to add this link to nvidia 3d drivers for EQ2:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforc...in7_190.38.html

Thank's Pak

Autenil and Rothgar, thank for at least letting me know about this. I had a big post going on NVIDIA's site and i'll end that post right now.

When I saw the notes, "turn off complex shaders" I was floored, the complex shader makes eq's graphics imo. Well I hope you guys can get this going soon, I REALLY enjoy playing games in 3d now, and this is the game I play more then any other. 10yr vet here, so I dont want them just collecting dust.

Thanks again, and GET THEM WHAT THEY NEED TO GET THE 3D VISION GOING CORRECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So is there any new updates on this issue? Nvidia said it was on SOE's side now to improve the quality of the 3d Vision in EQ2. After playing the Demo for Batman with the Nvidia 3D Vision, heh now I REALLLLLLLY want you guys to work on it.. Please if you have the time keep us up to date with whats going on with this. Thank you for all your help.

PakMonyet wrote:

Hey SoE,

Got an update on the 3D vision and EQ2?!

Nothing new to report. This will probably be something that Imago-Quem would work on so that means it would fall after Shader 3.0 and any bug fixes/polish for the shader system and GPU Shadows.

Unfortunately I can't give any timeline at the moment, but it's still something I'd like to do.
