<p>We pushed some updates to autoface to the test server, please try them out.</p><p>The only change I made was to playing 3rd person camera with avatar autoface ON and camera autoface OFF. I saw a few posts and got some PMs asking to allow people to put the camera in front of the character and back into position. That should work that way now. With Avatar autoface ON and camera autoface OFF.</p><p>I did not make any changes to how 1st person works and wanted to get some feedback before I do. So please let me know.</p><p>When giving feedback on this please include in your post your settings for:</p><p>View Settings (Avatar relative or View relative)</p><p>camera autoface</p><p>avatar autoface</p><p>first person or third peson camea view</p><p>Let me know how you would like it to work with those settings.</p><p>Also, someone asked for a slash command to toggle autoface. There is a command to change the setting.</p><p>/ics_playercombatautoface 0</p><p>/ics_playercombatautoface 1</p><p>You can put those on hotkeys to quickly switch between autoface on or off. If this is something players want I can make it into a toggle slash command "/toggleautoface" or something like that which just flips that 0 and 1 for you.</p>

<p>I would really like to have a /toggleautoface command. Currently I use 2 macros with hotkeys, but one hotkey less would be great.</p>

<p>ok, so I tested this.</p><p>my settings are: avatar relative / camera autoface OFF / avatar autoface ON / 3rd person view</p><p>I must say that, for my playstyle as a tank, this is exactly what I was looking for. While in combat I will always autoface my target, independant of the distance. I can still strafe while using the CTRL key, and my camera stays where I put it. Well, sort of stays where I put it, because the camera now moves when using the left or right key, and up/down key will move the character forward/backward in the direction I am actually facing with the camera. It works great for how I play, so please implement it <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" /></p><p>And, while e.g. making a pause from autoattack, if you toggle it on again will not re-center the camera, which is awesome, no more repositioning of the camera when you stand backwards at a wall ))</p>

<p>Sounds great!  Will have to test it out, but I've been tired of the camera position autochanging when I was fighting in an awkward position...either as tank against a wall  or as scout when the mobs werebacked into a corner and all facing different directions...While I want my character to autoface, I don't want the camera to do so- it makes me dizzy. </p>

<p>The problem lies with tanking and line of sight.  Most fights call for the tank to position himself with his back to a wall or corner, forcing us to spin our camera around to be able to see anything (ie damage numbers, any loose mobs running free, other add aggro issues, raid member positioning etc) It has never really been a problem until GU52. </p><p>Now when I do this and say I get kicked, teleported, or jostled and have to reposition, my toon will turn his back to the mob.  THIS IS A GIANT PROBLEM.  It used to take a lot of movement for your toon to turn his back on an encounter so it wasn't an issue, but now my toon will IMMEDIATELY turn tail when I have to move.  For fights like Zarrakon, Mynzak, and Field General this mechanic is otherworldy broken.  </p><p>Is it so hard to have an option to NEVER turn your back to a mob?  Maybe unless you yell it off?</p>

<p>Tested test out...and.......IT WORKS!!!!  No more getting nailed in the back when I reposition!!!! Victory for tanks everywhere!</p>

<p>Would like to add Tyrannus and the Field General in YIS to the list of mobs that this broken mechanic is making [Removed for Content] near impossible. Tyrannus ports you behind him, you go to readjust and dont even turn when u pass him>owned in the back.  The pull alone on Field General (plus crappy terrain) make that fight super hard to position correctly with this broken as it is.  I may be a pest, but this is a NECESSARY fix</p>

<p>Cmon guys this should have been in the Aug 4 hotfix this is MAJORLY killing the game for tanks of all walks of Norrath.</p><p>How am I supposed to make some of these ridiculous pulls and reposition mobs when i have to turn my back to reposition??? </p><p>You broke it, you have fixed it on test, what are you waiting for?  I will log over to test and help if I need to???</p>
