I just had wireless installed in my house. since, the game has not let me get past the loading ui settings, loading entities, or waiting for entities part of logging. it just either boots me back to character select or says trying login servers 1,2,etc, then boots to character select. I've been through the forums back and forth, deleted all files suggested, downloaded new drivers, etc. I'm lost. HELP!! I did the command suggestions also and came up with this in my eq2info file...

Windows IP Configuration

Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : user-PC Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . : Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-21-97-33-75-D6 DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::39a1:c74b:6cee:fd5a%10(Preferred) IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.11(Preferred) Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Lease Obtained. . . . . . . . . . : Sunday, July 05, 2009 7:29:22 PM Lease Expires . . . . . . . . . . : Monday, July 06, 2009 8:59:47 AM Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1 DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1 DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 24.197.97.132 24.197.97.136 NetBIOS over Tcpip. . . . . . . . : Enabled

Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 6:

Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : isatap.{C7F8C136-6846-440F-B96C-7F7A054EEE93} Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-E0 DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes

Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 7:

Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : 6TO4 Adapter Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-E0 DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes

Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 11:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 02-00-54-55-4E-01 DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes IPv6 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 2001:0:4137:9e50:2420:2afd:3f57:fff4(Preferred) Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::2420:2afd:3f57:fff4%11(Preferred) Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : :: NetBIOS over Tcpip. . . . . . . . : Disabled

Tracing route to sdkeq2-12-01.everquest2.com [199.108.13.161]

over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 16 ms 7 ms 7 ms 10.186.192.1

2 6 ms 7 ms 16 ms static.unknown.charter.com [96.34.66.16]

3 10 ms 7 ms 9 ms static.unknown.charter.com [96.34.64.16]

4 21 ms 9 ms 9 ms 172.22.34.210

5 8 ms 11 ms 10 ms static.unknown.charter.com [96.34.64.39]

6 16 ms 14 ms 13 ms static.unknown.charter.com [96.34.72.32]

7 13 ms 13 ms 14 ms 96.34.78.90

8 15 ms 16 ms 19 ms bbr01sghlga-tge-0-1-0-0.sghl.ga.charter.com [96.34.2.40]

9 27 ms 29 ms 27 ms 66.216.1.133

10 30 ms 30 ms 41 ms ash-ten3-1-atl-ten3-1.wvfiber.net [66.216.1.158]

11 30 ms 33 ms 32 ms exch1.asheqnx.sonyonline.net [206.223.115.90]

12 96 ms 95 ms 95 ms vl852.sdtermsbr-1.sonyonline.net [64.37.144.93]

13 96 ms 97 ms 97 ms vl831.sdkollsw-1.sonyonline.net [64.37.144.82]

14 99 ms 95 ms 95 ms sdkeq2-12-01.everquest2.com [199.108.13.161]

Trace complete.

Tracing route to sdkeq2-12-01.everquest2.com [199.108.13.161]

over a maximum of 30 hops:

0 user-PC [192.168.0.11]

1 10.186.192.1

2 static.unknown.charter.com [96.34.66.16]

3 static.unknown.charter.com [96.34.64.16]

4 172.22.34.210

5 static.unknown.charter.com [96.34.64.39]

6 static.unknown.charter.com [96.34.72.32]

7 96.34.78.90

8 bbr01sghlga-tge-0-1-0-0.sghl.ga.charter.com [96.34.2.40]

9 66.216.1.133

10 ash-ten3-1-atl-ten3-1.wvfiber.net [66.216.1.158]

11 exch1.asheqnx.sonyonline.net [206.223.115.90]

12 vl852.sdtermsbr-1.sonyonline.net [64.37.144.93]

13 vl831.sdkollsw-1.sonyonline.net [64.37.144.82]

14 sdkeq2-12-01.everquest2.com [199.108.13.161]

Computing statistics for 350 seconds...

Looks like this machine is connected via a wired connection - your tracert shows 100 percent packet loss on hop 4 and 11, both of these can be the cause of the issue. One looks like it is a charter hop and the other is SOE's. Hop 9 is showing some packet loss, but not bad also, 9 looks to be a handoff router from Charter to wvfiber.net

ya, I hae it hardwired right now just to see if it was the wireless acting up, but i get same response either way. But this didnt start till I got the wireless hooked up. What can I do to remedy the 100/100 issues. I dont have a clue. And thx for the earlier response.

Depending on how ambitous your are you can call them and hope you get someone that is a little better and who understands what packet loss beyond rebooting your modem.

Again, a lot of times this type of loss with clear up when the company that owns that router realizes thier is an issue and will restart the router during off peak hours, I suspect that your first packet loss is on a internal trasfer router of charter's given the fact it bridges between 2 different charter hops

My guess is that you added wireless by adding a router to the connection. If the problem started at that point, then a blocked port seems likely. You can usually correct that by setting up that router for port forwarding. The following website has step-by-step instructions on how to perform that fix:

http://www.portforward.com/english/...routerindex.htmSimply select the router you are using, then select the 'skip this advertisement' button in the upper right, and finally select Everquest 2 on the following page. You will then be presented with a walkthrough on how to forward the correct ports. Please respond if you need any further assistance.

Did you install a wireless card in your system? Also did you install a wireless router. I would try some of the fixes they suggest you may get lucky. But I will tell you I ran into the same problem as you are facing now. I did everything that was recommended by SOE. Lets just say right now I have a wireless card sitting in a spare parts bin on my main top end system rotting . While a 30 ft cable goes from my cpu to the back of the wireless. No offense intended to support but you would think this game would have no troubles on a 3 month old system basically. What is truely sad is it works wirelessly on my 2 yr old laptop but not on the brand new system. The new system handles every other MMO out there including all of SOE other MMOs flawlessly wirelessly. So instead of admitting it might be a EQ2 problem. I was asked to send them a small novel of which I did and still have not heard anything from them. That was 3 months ago. So I would be prepared to go back to wired and not get my hopes up if I were you. Sorry to be so negative just did not want you to get some false sence of everything was going to be alright like I did at first.

okay, did the port forward thing. waiting for eq2 to relog. I'm almost to the point of going back to wired internet. its not worth the headache. Sadly, the main job for this computer is gameplay, so if it means a cord across my loor to plya, then so be it. thx for all the help in this guys.

oh btw. My wireless is all in one piece modem/router. and no card that can be seen. Not real familiar with this stuff, so just going by site. lol

and whats funnier is I could jump on someone nearby's wireless lynksys connection and play. I don't even pretend to understand this stuff, but I can't find that connection anymore, so been off for a few weeks again. JONESING bad for gameplay!!!!. LOL

Greetings,

You should not need to use a wired connection permenantly. I use a wireless connection myself so I know that it works with the game. We'll simply need to set up that wireless router to work with the game. The port forwarding website is a great resource in that regard. Have you gone through that process and are you still experiencing a problem?
