I'm just starting back after a long time. I have a ranger lvl 50 I am thinking of betraying to assassin only problem is he is 50 with only 35 aa, would it be easier to catch up the AA or just start a Dark Elf for the assassin?

Keep going. AA isn't hard to get at all.

And the concensus is ... there is none.

Either or, it really doesn't make a lot of difference. If you want a Dark Elf and are looking at rerolling, 50 is pretty easy to hit. Likewise, you can always lock. Or not. How bad do you want that D.E. Assassin?

If you like your toon, keep it. The servers now offer cross class alignment. That means, on PvP, you can have a Ranger in FP, or an Assassin in Qeynos.

There are ways to get you're AA up, just focus on it. I had a toon that was in tier 5 and only had about 10 aa at launch of TSO. I only play him every now and then, but he is almost maxxed now.

If you are looking to level up quickly to 80, do it. Adv XP converts to aa xp when you are capped. Plus, many quests offer alot of aa xp that you wouldn't think did. And, if you mentor, you can get alot AA just by killing named mobs, as mentoring gives bonus AA.
