HiThis question is probably fairly unique to my situation, and it would be appreciated if someone could help advise of the best course of action. My situation has a few contingencies, that i'll outline below. Pleaes consider them.

There is a constraint with my internet usage - Such that, I can't download all the expansions & updates at once. To download all the expansions, I need to roll this over 2 month period. For instance, download expansions one and two now and then download the others after the roll-over date. I have installed my original EQ2 client.

I live in Australia, i've gone quite a few game stores and was even laughed at in one for even suggesting the idea that they had it in stock. I've also looked at online-retailers, and they didn't have it. So I can't get access to a physical copy

My account has been given all expansion packs except for the most recent. It appears that looking at my account in station, that it would be $48 (AUD) to buy the latest, which also includes all the previous. Is this the only way to get the latest expansion.

Given the first constraint of download limits, which expansions packs would be most useful to have first when starting a new character? Is what i'm trying to do (spread the download of EQ2 expansions over two months) a realistic goal?Regards,Lewes.

You can delay the optional content like voice packs but the expansion content is set. If you have a friend that plays that can make a backup of their directory and send it to you it can be copied to the eq2 directory to save download time. even if you would install from disks you will have a large download to being the files to current configuration, the copy from a current backup would be the least painful method.

Thanks for the replyNo friends I have currently play EQ2. They're mostly WoW players that never paid for an MMO before that one. Don't get me wrong, I love them to bits, but they certainly won't have a copy, let alone an updated client.Anyone have an idea on how big the download is?

My eq2 folder is 11 gigs. No addons, custom UI's or anything.

My EQ2 folder is 11.4Gb when there is a big update I download it to one machine then copy the updated files to my other machines as I too have a download limit. I suggest you locate someone in your country who would be able to burn the folder to several DVD's.

Well, i've sorted the bandwidth issue, and temporarily got as much as I could need.Started downloading: Relatively slow download ranging from 26.8 kb/s to 50 kb/s from the EQ2 Launcher (on a good connection)For me, i've gone through one big count down, 15 hour. The Greyish Blue bar has gotten all the way to the end, once saying 8 minutes now saying 15 hours again (with the blue bar almost complete, but still going through different files)My Everquest 2 Folder is 6.6gigs at the moment, given the reported 11gigs, i'm in for 32 hours of patching if average speed is 40kb/s - Is this realistic? I'm going to see if there's any way i can improve my download speed from the launcher.

Generally (assuming no major shifts of bandwidth occur on your network occur and your line is clear) the countdown timer on the Station Launcher will download faster than the given estimated time. So I don't believe it will take quite as long as what you're currently getting.
