Would sony please inform the person they will be charged $1 for credit card information?

I was trying to reactivate my second acct for a month or two using a $50 visa card I got from a friend. I registered it and went to see if it'd work. I tried 6 times with the information for it, as all it said was that there was an error with the CC information at the top of the screen. . . after those 6 times I went back to the site to check details on card, and there it was $6 charged to the card for nothing at all. The darned form did not even mention it charges the card each time you enter the information. All I was figuring was that I typed something incorrectly - NOPE, I guess can't use those kinds of cards for subscription, although it is a visa card. . . sooo 6 dollars wasted and nothing to show for it, thanks Sony.

Yea okay 6 dollars is not a big deal, but thats 6 dollars for no logical reason at all, and the person isn't even told that it does that.

Ah so it will be refunded? Hah my bad then ~ I rarely use credit cards to begin with~ Lo siento.

Although still ~ any idea why it wasn't accepted? was it because it was a gift card visa and not a full credit card? Cause I've ordered things online before with them, yet it wouldn't accept it.

Greetings,

As the other poster mentioned, it never actually gets charged. We need to confirm the card information with the bank once it has been entered and sending a charge is the only way to do so. The $1 charges you're seeing are 'hold' charges since we auto-decline the charge once they confirm the info is correct. Let me know if you have any further questions.

We compare the information that is entered against the bank records and any mismatch will cause a decline. I would advise calling the customer service number on the back of the card to see exactly what they have on file for an address. The zip code is the most important section for this.
