Game locks up on sign in

<p>I've been having an issue where my computer locks up when I log in.  I get as far as being able to see the zone my character is currently in.  But it never places my character in the zone.  I was showing a hud error with my UI ( fetishnightfall)  I deleted the UI and went with the default UI thinking that was the issue.  However I still locked up my computer on log in.  This problem showed up after the latest patch.</p><p>I need a resolution to this issue.  I hate paying for a game I can't play.  I've even uninstalled the entire game and started from scratch. </p>

<p>Greetings,</p><p>I know that you already performed a reinstall, but a corrupted file is the most common cause of this issue.  There are certain files that do not get replaced using the uninstall function.  You may want to delete those specific files to see if that resolves the issue.  These are the files I'm referring to:</p><p>cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.ini</p><p>All of those file should be located in your Everquest 2 directory(Default: C:Program FilesSonyEverquest 2).</p>

<p>Gotta love the cut and paste replies.  I'll try what you pasted from " Stuck at receiving zone info" post.  You guys really need to think about what you post .  It sounds like you have no idea what you are doing.  Just post the generic response and hope it works for us and we don't complain any more.</p>

<p>Deleted all the files you recommended.  Still locks up upon zone entry.  I give up.   I've been playing EQ and EQ2 since the beginning, but I don't need this hassle.  Looks like I'll be saying goodbye to my second home.  I can spend my money else with better results.</p>
