Ok so currently if you cast a reactive and say it has 5 triggers, lets say each one will heal you for 1000 (for this example)

As it currently works, a mob can hit for a small amount of damage and use up a trigger of the reactive aslong as they do 1 point of damage to you.

What I propose is a reactive ward.

IE:

You cast your single target reactive, it has 5 triggers of 1000 point ward each

5 triggers remain

Now you proceed to get hit 5 times for 200 damage. Since the total damage is only equal to 1 trigger it uses up that trigger.

4 Triggers remain

You get hit for 1500, you take 500 damage It absorbs 1000 damage.

3 triggers remain

You get hit 9 times for 100 damage, total = 900, you absorb all the damage. The trigger is not used up, 100 points remaining.

3 triggers remain

You get hit for 1000 damage, you absorb 100 and take 900 damage.

2 triggers remain

You stop taking damage for the duration of the reactive, the remaining portion heals you for 2000.

Not to be snide - but then they would not be reactives they would be Wards - we already have a mystic class.

On the other hand, if the reactive could add to your health - now you would have something useful.

I.E. Using your 1000 point reactive, if you got hit for 200 damage, you would "heal" to Max health - the balance of the reactive (800pts) could be temporarily added to your max health (until more damaged burned it or the "donating"reactive expired). The next hit would use this bump, possibly not even triggering another event (hit less than 800 pts)

In the end, this is why clerics/druids are not quite as efficient as shamans - but I don't necessarily think the answer is to make us vanilla over the whole deal.

EDIT: Good lord that was more complex than I meant for. What I am saying is, when a charge of a reactive heal is used, it should apply the full amount to the target - even if they are already at max health. That way the full use of the charge is realized.

Yes it is a ward but smaller than theirs, they still retain the throne of "big damage absorption" we will be medium absorption, with a reactive flavor. I do believe my idea is quite balanced and would help a lot more than you would think. At the very least it could be given a testing phase.

Druids are getting their HoTs so they will bank "left over ticks" for a huge heal at the expiration aslong as that tick didn't heal anything. So we fall further behind on the healing ability yet again? Not to mention with the upcoming "critical consildation" we will most likely see a massive nerf to our Sta line and int line.
