I haven't played in awhile, much less played a zerker. I just decided to stop in the forums and notice people talking about DUAL WIELDING! /gasp...

Last I was around it was pretty much buckler spec or [Removed for Content]. What happened? What patch notes should I be reading?

If it's true and now I don't have to go buckler let me just add my opinion by saying...

FINALLY!

well for one they dropped the the buckler requierment from the STA line, except for Reversal. It seems some zerkers do DW, but only when not tanking.

they changed the requirments to all shields, and took off the shield requirment off the DA, however the DA is now much lower.

DW to build up aggro then switch to shield once its secured.

With all of the TSO stuff that increases mitigation, there's really no need for a shield once you get your mythical (when i was fabled, i did run with a shield in defensive most of the time).

You'll notice that most of the zerkers that tell people to DW in offensive for tanking are all equipped with at least T2 TSO shard armor with their mythicals. I couldn't comprehend how to maintain aggro or keep myself alive until I got my mythical, then it all became clear .

I only put on the shield for Gynok, Zarrakon and the boobytraps in Palace if I have proper heals. Well that and when I'm doing instance runs and I end up with half the zone from popping Insolence in a bad spot

Dual wield is key for hate generation and lets face it HP is the new Mitigation. In TSO almost all the named mobs are orange con which means our avoidance is pretty terrible versus them anyway. Just go for the best HP and Mitigation you can get and keep the mobs from pwning the rest of your crew.

No, nothing happened. SoE still enjoys the idea of our class being the least cared about.

Yeah been DW for a long while now even when i was non mythed and was working on my T2 armor. Anyone too scared to get that 2nd weapon out needs to give their healers a kick to stop holding them back

Just try to get your hands on one of te nice fabled boards for when you do need that extra protection
