Turned on EQ2 today, played for a bit and worked fine. Logged off and a couple hours later I try to log in and after I put in password a square window with Everquest II in it pops up with a loading bar (never done this before) it gets to the end then screen just goes black and I get a client error. Any ideas?

Thanks

The patcher downloaded a new EverQuest2.exe for me and I haven't been able to play since. Also got a new EQ2VoiceService.exe. I'm not sure what's the problem, but suspect something from the crashlog might point to an issue . . .

Log:

Problem loading VeShader from file shaders/code/genericguipaperdoll.vdl

...using a default shader

(VDL Parser) *buffer*(0) : Error, File not found: shaders/code/genericguigrayscale.vdl

<ALERT> E:liveeq2frameworkvdlsrcVdlErr.cpp(85): (VDL Parser) *buffer*(0) : Error, File not found: shaders/code/genericguigrayscale.vdl

Problem loading VeShader from file shaders/code/genericguigrayscale.vdl

...using a default shader

(VDL Parser) *buffer*(0) : Error, File not found: shaders/code/genericguinoalpha.vdl

<ALERT> E:liveeq2frameworkvdlsrcVdlErr.cpp(85): (VDL Parser) *buffer*(0) : Error, File not found: shaders/code/genericguinoalpha.vdl

Problem loading VeShader from file shaders/code/genericguinoalpha.vdl

...using a default shader

-----------------------------------------

Not sure what change SOE made, just hope I can get my monthly sub prorated for the days I'm missing.

I had this problem on all three of my pc's there is a work around you have to run the patcher till play button is red then go to your main EQ2 folder open the Pak files folder then delete the file Patch.vpk.

Do not re run patcher after just press play and youll be able to get in.

worked on all 3 of my pc's

There doesnt seem to be any official recognition of the problem yet.Hopefully someone from sony could post a link here and prove me wrong.

most of EQ2 team will be at fan fare i would guess . i do not have the file "patch.vpk" on either comp so no temp fixes for me i get no responce from filling out a "ticket" from their support system.and the only responce i have seen on any thread by sony was to lock the tread so no one else could post

I should have mentioned I am Running XP not sure if it works on Vista .

K heres a Link from Rothgar about the Problem

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...5056983#5056983

When you start the game you will actually want to run it from the Everquest2.exe for the time being. I believe most of the people who are still crashing after deleting patch.vpk are running it from a different file
