So, after installing the "new and improved" Launchpad that is supposed to "retain you game settings" surprise! My game setting are gone!

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and get the same thing, my game setting back to the defaults. [Removed for Content]?!

The installer directed me to a webpage with a plug in to install which did not help either. The new launchpad also installs itself in a new directory called "Sony Online Entertainment" that is separate from my existing "Sony" directory with all of my Everquest files. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it in the Sony directory and that did not work.

After a week and a half of no voice and now this, I will never trust another update or improvement to this game ever again. One shouldn't have to jump through all these hoops just to update a feature.

Any assistance will be appreciated as I am not going to reset all of my setting so I will be unable to play until i get this resolved.

Thanks,

Another loyal player and subscriber frustrated yet again.

Define game settings.

Where the game is located?

Mine actually retained the installation locations.

Station>preferences>EverQuest II>Change install location

Specifically, UI settings and performance settings. Going to try the change install location preferences to move files to Sony/Everquest 2 and see if that works.

Thanks

It seems that the station launcher has a new default install location and that is causing this to happen for some people. The install location was changed to a folder that has less security in Vista to prevent the basic file protection issues. I believe the new default is

system_hdd (C – Users – <your user name> – AppData – LocalLow – Sony Online Entertainment – Installed Games

You can move the install location back to the old folder by opening 'Station' > 'Preferences' in the launcher menu. Then select the game and hit the 'change install location' button. At that point you can simply select the old folder.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience this issue has caused. Let me know if you have any questions.
