<p> Hi i run vista windwo. i click my start on windows and  i click on run and i type in <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>msconfig</strong></span> and im at the startup and all boxes are checkmark, i like to know what ll can i uncheck to not have alot of stuff runing in the background or i should ask what is<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong> </strong><strong>IMPORTANT</strong></span> to keep checkedmark??????? I know shuttting down alot of stuff running in background will help my co,puterrun better ccause i use to have an xp and i knew there what to shut down and it ran smooth and better but i do not know what to uncheck for running vista.</p>

<p>Assuming you are not running on a laptop, you can simply uncheck every entry that doesn't have 'Microsoft' in the name.</p>
