<p>After hours of downloading, I was frustrated by the error 41780. I have searched for a solution but failed, so I come here for help. I don't use VPN and can play Vanguard and Starwar Galaxies without any problem under the exactly same condition. Please help me out! Many thanks.</p>

<p>from a post further down if you are using Hamachi as a ISP chances are you are utilzing a VPN</p><p>Here's the wikipedia entry for Hamachi:</p><p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>"Hamachi is a <a class="mw-redirect" title="Zero-configuration" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/wiki/Zero-configuration"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000080;">zero-configuration</span></span></a> <a title="Virtual private network" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/wiki/Virtual_private_network"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000080;">virtual private network</span></span></a> (VPN)</strong> <a title="Shareware" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/wiki/Shareware"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000080;">shareware</span></span></a> application capable of establishing direct links between computers that are <a title="Network address translation" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/wiki/Network_address_translation"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000080;">behind NAT firewalls</span></span></a> without requiring reconfiguration (in most cases); in other words, it establishes a connection over the Internet that very closely emulates the connection that would exist if the computers were connected over a <a title="Local area network" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/wiki/Local_area_network"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000080;">local area network</span></span></a>. Currently available as a production version for <a title="Microsoft Windows" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/wiki/Microsoft_Windows"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000080;">Microsoft Windows</span></span></a> and, as beta, for <a title="Mac OS X" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/wiki/Mac_OS_X"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000080;">Mac OS X</span></span></a> and <a title="Linux" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/wiki/Linux"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000080;">Linux</span></span></a>.</p><p style="padding-left: 30px;">...</p><p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>Hamachi is a centrally-managed <a class="mw-redirect" title="VPN" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/wiki/VPN"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000080;">VPN</span></span></a> system</strong>, consisting of the server cluster managed by the vendor of the system and the client software, which is installed on end-user computers."</p><p style="padding-left: 30px;"><a rel="nofollow" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamachi" target="_blank"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000080;">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamachi</span></span></a></p><p>It seems like you might be behind a VPN</p>

<p>Would someone who works for Sony respond as to why everyone who tries to play EverQuest 2 in China gets error 41780?</p><p>I don't play myself but this was a birthday present for my son who was looking forward to playing this game.  He's very frustrated.  Please reply.</p>
