I have 3 accounts for 3 people in my home with 3 different computers. We've been playing for years. After this morning's patch, the game crashes with a system error on every computer when we hit play. I've checked with several co-workers who also play and the same is happening with them.

Here's the deal... My wife is disabled and eq2 is all she has to do all day and is going nuts from bordom. I've been monitoring the forums all day from work and for the last 13 hours we've been down and there has been NO word from SOE on a fix. Whats up with this????

I've full scanned, deleted files and re-updated them, reset my modem and router, disabled all un-necessary services, and some other things. No luck on any computer. What was in this patch that killed the game for everyone I know? And PLEASE give us an update when it will be fixed.

Craig

Been wasting the whole day and night on this trying everything. Going on 15 hours now with NO response from tech support. This is the worst support known to man! I now have even more people working on a work around at work until Sony fixes the bug. I have a feeling after this a LOT of people are going to delete their accounts. Just let us know your progress on a fix SOE.

SOE PLEASE READ THIS THREAD AND FIX YOUR PROBLEM!!!!!!!

A 0xC000005 error normaly points to a out of date driver or corrupted driver install. Would be helpfull if those that are expieriencing this issue start a seperate thread and review the what to post thread that is stickied in the forums. A patch may introduce a new function that is not supported by a older driver, so the driver has to be updated.

Most of the people in this thread have probably already corrected the issue using the fix posted in the 14 page thread, but I'm posting it again here just in case.

Please delete the patch.vpk file that is located in your Everquest 2paks folder. There was a bad patch that was causing this issue for many players but deleting that file will correct the problem. Please let us know if the issue persists after trying that step.
