I've heard great things about this class and I've now got a level 24 one, but, to be frank, I'm rubbish.I've read all the guides, but I'm hopeless in combat and I'm an exceptionally bad healer (my duo counterpart has 1500 health and I can barely heal a fraction of that in tricky situations).

I can barely go toe to toe with something a few levels under mine, despite wearing plate.

So, what are the strengths of the class and do things change, 'cos they seem very much like the underdogs. My Shadowknight companion can kill so much and has so much flexibility while I feel I'm floundering in sub-mediocrity.

Help, please!

As long as you keep your heals upgraded, and cast them early enough to do their job, you can get the job done on the healing side.

For going toe to toe, Inquisitor relies more heavily on their AA than a shadowknight does. If you both had around 40 AA at level 25 (possible with level locking) your inquisitor would probably kick the SK's butt. I'm a level locked inquisitor.. at level 30-35 I had something like 80 AA. Now I'm 74 with around 150. I am a soloing powerhouse. I often find myself soloing next to full groups of players just 1 or 2 levels lower than myself in places such as SoS.

If one of you is twinked and the other isn't, you'll notice a major difference as well.

edit... I also forgot a couple tips. Battle Cleric 1st, then 100% crit, then Double Attack. Use 2 handers for dps, it makes a HUGE difference (bucklers don't make that big a difference, but I have the buckler mez hotbarred to swap in a buckelr if needed.

To be clear. The SK is currently the most powerful class out there. So everybody else might look a bit weak compared to this powerhouse. The tips from Spinn are quite good. If you have problems keeping your friend alive there are some things you can do:

Always cast group and single reactive before / between pulls.

Debuff Mobs that live longer then 10s.Esp. the STR / INT debuff helps to reduce the incoming damage.

Refresh you reactives as soon as they run out. Best start casting if there is only one trigger left.

If both direct single heals are down you can still use the group heal to heal the tank.

Vs. hard mobs start healing while your tank is still green. It is likely that he will have taken some damage by the time you are done casting your heal.

I hope that helps.

Remember this as well, the group reactive is "accross all targets" so there is a 9 potential triggers total... so if the tank has all the aggro, then he is getting all the triggers... so its esentially like a single target reactive, as long as your DPS mongers arent pulling aggro, the tank should be getting all the reactives...

Just tell your tank to wait until they see both the group and single target reactives go up before they pull mobs...

And for soloing, Steadfast = beast... so many mobs have so many inturrupts, which is why the class "seems" weak, but its just because cast times are so slow and that 5 second group reactive just turned into a 14 second failed cast because of 3 inturrupts...

if the tank has lots of mobs hitting him, you get that group reactive off and his health will skyrocket, which gives you time to get off the single target and some heals.

Remember also, your AOE detaunt / stun is your friend, if the tank pulls too many and your heals cause the mobs to go to you, pop that immediately followed by either the group or the solo reactive on you, then your tank...

Always... i repeat ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! have a set of each of your primary single target heals and reactives macrod to you... one for whoever your targeting and one for you at the very minimum.

Just put them into a hotbar above or besides your other hot keys, right click on them and "create macro" and then just type your name into the "target" box and your good to go... it will always cast it on you, no matter what is happening.. so you dont have to switch targets...
