Being fairly new to MMOs and therefore Roleplaying and with eq2 being my first true MMO, I am abit stuck on creating the backstory for a character I recently came up with. When I roleplay I like my character to be authentic as possible, which includes not straying from the lore of eq2 and eq1, however, having never played eq1 I am abit stuck on the history of my soon to be new eq2 character.

Seeing as eq1 and eq2 are both seperate Universes, and being unsure of when the split happened, I have a few questions regarding my character's ancestor.

Basically, I plan on having a character who will be human (don't know if that makes any difference) with the second name Planestrider, which comes from one of his ancestors, a druid of Karana, who travelled to the Planes. Therefore I need to know:

1. How were the Planes accessed by adventurers, and would it be possible to have a character with an ancestor who went to the Planes exist in eq2, or was the corresponding expansion after the timesplit?

2. If the above is possible, would Karana mind one of his Druids venturing to his Plane? (Most likely on a pilgrimage or in the search of some treasure), and what creatures would he have encountered there? Would they have been apprehensive of the Druid, or would they not mind him being there? Also what would the climate be like on the Plane of Storms. If possible, is there a map, because that would be awesome.

3. If not, would there have been a way the Planes could have been accesed before hand, by only a select few before the expansion came out?

Ok, I think that's it lol. Thanks in advance if anyone does manage to answer me extremely long list of "things I would like to know". I think I managed to ask everything I wanted too...

Gonna help ya out on this one, I know how fustrating it is to not be able to find lore specific to your char. for your RP purposes, so here ya go:

1) I don't remember the exact way the Norrathians broke into the planes, I believe they were all accessed via the Plane of Knowledge, which again I don't remember the specifics on how we managed to get into that plane either. But yes is the answer to your 2nd question, the split between the EQ1 and EQ2 universes occurs at the end of the Planes of Power expansion, with the freeing of Zebuxoruk.

2) No, Karana was not a hostile diety, so he would not mind a druid of his following roaming about his plane. This should help you with some of the climate and look of the PoS: http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/s...mp+to+a+faction. It should be noted however, that Karana himself doesn't actually reside within the PoS, he lives in the Bastion of Thunder: http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/s....shtml?zone=173. As far as the residences of the PoS, some are hostile, some are not. Alot of the sentient beings (frogs, trees, bears, ect.) were not hostile to players, but all of the giants found within the plane were all hostile.

I hope this helps you with your RP endevors, I played EQ1 for many years, and enjoyed every minute of it. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask

*edit*: I'm a little hazy on question 1, so if I'm wrong, don't stone me

When the Planes of Power opened up, players could access the Plane of Knowledge through book portals all over Norrath. From there, they could access the Plane of Tranquility, which housed the entrances to many more planes beyond that, including the Plane of Storms and the Bastion of Thunder where Karana resided.

2. If the above is possible, would Karana mind one of his Druids venturing to his Plane? If possible, is there a map, because that would be awesome.

Karana was most grateful for us adventurers coming into his plane. He had actually been put into a meditative sleep by a planar entity called Agnarr the Storm Lord when he stole away his Staff of Thunder. Karana himself has always been kind towards most mortals, finding thier development to be curious in many ways.

3. If not, would there have been a way the Planes could have been accesed before hand, by only a select few before the expansion came out?

The Plane of Fear, Hate, Growth, Sky, and Mischief all had thier own portals located across Norrath. The Plane of Sky and Plane of Hate could only be access by wizards with a certain item in hand. Even now in EQ2, you can access the Shard of Fear and the Shard of Hate. After the Rending, the planes themselves were broken up, and the shards are what remains of thier connection to Norrath.

Ok, I think that's it lol. Thanks in advance if anyone does manage to answer me extremely long list of "things I would like to know". I think I managed to ask everything I wanted too...
