I've finally reached the irratiation point that forces me to post on a forum so here goes, for two days now every single time I launch EQ2 I'm waiting 20 mins for downloading patches that are all some form of .vpak. I don't know what any of this stuff is and i don't honestly care, but it's on both computers and it's nothing to do with any anti-virus or firewalls or anything of that nature. Just find it hard to believe that the game needs updating 5x a day. Am i the only one having this or can anyone give me any idea how to make it stop?

I have the same problem. For me it is about 40 minutes downloading the same files over and over again when I try to log in. This started when GU 52 was going live and I fear it will continue until we get GU 52 for the UK servers.

Eslani

I'm getting exactly the same problem as well. Takes about an hour to get in each day since GU52 went live on US servers.

I play on Runnyeye and it's almost like it's patching the US version and then patching back to the UK version

Anyone got a solution/ideas?

Rid

Have you guys tried using the Station Launcher Beta? I know that they've improved the scanning procedure and I beleive the files are even being fetched from a different source that might improve download speeds.

I'd recommend giving it a shot. After you install it, just point it to your existing EQII directory and it should do the rest.

http://launcher.station.sony.com/

last time i tried it, the beta launcher did only patch server to the us version, regardless on which server you was. is that fixed then?

Did you turn of UAC ?

Are you running eq2 as a Admin ?

If all else fails, you can probably delete the Everquest2 patchlogs, and run a full file scan.

Every time I run the beta Station Launcher its randomly doing patching all day long, every time I turn around its patching something in EQ2. Heck, sometimes it stuck and I have to close it, then spend another half HOUR patching all the mess its made with the original launchpad.

Yes, its beta.

You are all playing only on one server, aren't you? Not by incidence on US server and EU servers?

I have the same issue with the Station launcher. 30Gb of downloads in 7 days. I only play on Runnyeye. I think the issue is that the Station Launcher tries to keep the game updated for all versions selected. By default its defaults to keeping the US version patched. So if you play on the EU servers, when you are done, it patches back to the US version. Normally this is not an issue, as they are the same. But with the servers being so far out of sync, its an issue. The only solution I found was to log out of the station launcher when I had launched the game. That way the automatic updates are disabled. I think that part of the problem with the Automatic updates is that the labels on the versions are not clear. The options are "EverQuest II", "EverQuest II (EN)" and "Vanguard". So which is the US version and which is the EU version?

Personally, it didnt matter what version was selected - it patched to the US version irregardless.

I have the british flag selected, indicating that I am playing on the EU servers.

Despite this, the patcher insists on patching the US version of the game when the computer is idle. To get around this, I have logged out of the Station Launcher.
