View Full Version : 3rd person view behavior changes

<p>Prior to LU52, if you were engaged in direct melee combat (not ranged) the movement keys would cause the camera to pan around the avatar.  Now the avatar moves from side to side, but the camera maintains its point of view.  You now have to use the mouse to change the view.  For me this is a fairly radical change because I've developed the habit of looking around me for possible adds during a fight.  It's very inconvenient to have to use the mouse.</p><p>Does anyone know if there's a way to switch back to the old way?  The only mention of it I see in the updates notes, is an indirect hint that combat animations have been refined to reflect the new movement during a fight.  I've tried playing with some of the new view settings, but I can't see a way to get the old camera behavior.</p><p>[Update]</p><p>This behavior seems to be random.  It will switch from the old style, where the view appears to be anchored to the avatar, to the new sidestepping mode.  I first thought certain modifier keys were changing it, but that did not turn out to be the case.  It just seems to switch randomly.</p>
