Trying to make a new char after todays patch and when I get to the end and try to create it I get that error message, I have no idea what it means?

I, too, have this error, though I believe I know the cause of mine.

Way back long before this morning, I used a hex editor on my characters .cff (saved customization) to aqquire a strange new color for him. After today, with the new Ratonga whiskers, I decided to give him those, when I hit this snag. It appears that the sever can now tell if a hex value is out of range for a certian thing, and returns with an error.

So, no more blue Ratonga or Kerra for me.

(For now, anyways... -ominous music-)

I can certainly report it if need be.

I shall run some slightly more extensive tests and post my findings. So far, it seems to be okay if I set something using the in-game color wheel, save the customization, it likes that. I can use it as many times as I like, but when I go in and change the color code hex to my desired color, it freaks out on submitting it to the server. So far, its just on my male Ratonga attempting to use the facial markings fur pattern. If it matters, I used a frogloks color wheel to generate the hex code. (man, that was killer). I'll probably do it again just to make sure my numbers are right.

Well I have never edited anything on my account, but still have the error. Based on KenC suggestion I went back and tried some other combinations and he hit on something. I get the error message everytime I try to make a Wood Elf Ranger, doesnt matter the hair style or anything, so long as its a Wood Elf Ranger of some kind I get the error, if I make him a Half Elf Ranger, it works fine..no error message, any other legal race for ranger and I am fine..maybe the game has decided there are just too many Wood Elf Rangers in the game. Anyway looks like a bug of somekind to me..I am not that picky about race so I will just make a Half-Elf Ranger and be done with it, but still SoE may want to take a look at it.

Actually this does appear to be a universal issue. No new Wood Elves can be created!

I spoke to the EQ2 GM team and they've reported the issue. It's just a matter of mass rioting waiting for a hotfix at this point!

That part is true, but I still can't make my different color Ratonga. Though, I guess I'm not really supposed to, so thats not something thats 'broken' but 'fixed'.

Oh well.

Aye. 'Tis a shame, though. A blue ratonga/kerra is actually quite awesome.
