If you're using Windows Vista, I'd recommend these two solutions to try first off.

--

Fix 1:1. Right click on Station Launcher icon and go to properties2. Go to the compatibility tab3. Click on "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select XP Service Pack 24. Check "Run this program as administrator"5. Click Apply6. Right Click on the Station Launcher icon once again7. Click "Run as Administrator" Fix 2: 1. Make sure you are logged in on an Administrator account.2. Navigate to the Station Launcher folder (Usually c:program filessonystation will contain the Station Launcher folder)3. Right click on the Station Launcher folder and go to properties4. Click on the Security Tab5. Click on the Edit button.6. Go through each username or group listed and make sure all "Allow" boxes are checked7. Ensure that no "Deny" boxes are checked and click OK.

--

If you're using XP, please let me know!

Please try again.

The error is usually the same, even before this patch today. I am using XP. What other information can I give you?

PLEASE READ!

I'm so frustrated because I am such a noob on forums, it took me forever just to find where to post. (And I still think I'm in the wrong area.)

Ever since today 6/16/09, my account does not exist...or something. The launcher constantly rejects my login information like it never existed. Also, I click "forgot password" thinking it may be my own error, however, they sent me a new generated password and I STILL cannot log in.

I cannot even log on to anything on station.com to see [Removed for Content] is going on with my account. I run on Win XP. PLEASE HELP!

Ah yes. Only accounts with active subscriptions actually have a PM ability. I'd recommend, then, to contact our phone support at 1-858-537-0898 for the quickest assistance.

And how about me, with the same problem on XP? or is it different because of the system?

Actually, I tried going in the back way like I normally do, and it loaded up fine. So the patch must have worked all except that one file. Sorry to bother!

Finally found a fix .. I tried everything anyone told me but none of it worked so i ran across the beta patcher and it worked oh and it RULES btw i highly suggest tring it out

Great! I'm rather surprised a launcher swap worked. But, it's a win-win if you like using it!

I'm also having the Download Cancelled issue here. First time it ever happened in years of running EQ2.

What is even weirder is that if I click again on Download, it seems to download 2-3 more files before aborting again. So, it's not getting stuck on a single file.

Running it as Administrator under Windows 7 here.

Here's what I can see in the log:

[19:46:17] Patcher: Downloading Char_C.vpk [dloadsize=25338029; totalsize=25338029; crc=1411158724][19:46:18] Patcher: PatcherZipper error(41,1224,0): (null)[19:46:18] Patcher: DownloadFileEx failed (41) on url=http://laeaberrpatch.everquest2.com:7010/patch/eq2/en/patch0/main/paks/Char_C.vpk_delta_5.gz[19:46:18] Patcher: Error with partial patch, cancelling immediately. File: Char_C.vpk

The start of the problem in that text is 'PatcherZipper error' - which looks to be an issue with the file getting where it needs to go. It could be a privileges issue on the system. Could you try the Fix 1 and 2 I mentioned earlier to see if that has any affect for yourself?

Already done both of them. Also cleared cache and did a Full Scan.

I don't think it's a permission issue since if I click Download it will download a few files, and then stop again on a different one. In fact, I always had EQ2 installed on a different partition specifically to avoid having to deal with the permission issues caused by Vista/Windows 7 and applications located in C:Program Files

Well if those had no luck and a browser swap doesn't quite help like it did Ajea, the next place to check out would be a possible connection issue. Are you connected wirelessely and/or have you tried setting up port forwarding for the EQ2 patcher?

Think I just found it. I disabled my antivirus, and now it's able to download without interruption. Seems like the patcher tries to unpack the file or something while the antivirus still has its greedy paws on it. Will update this post once it's actually finished.

Quite odd, but considering both the OS (Windows 7 RC1 64-bit) AND the antivirus (TrendMicro Internet Security 2010) are betas, it might be either of their fault there.

Anyone else with that issue also using TMIS (2009 or 2010)?

EDIT: Patching complete. I have also run another Full Scan to make sure that all files are kosher, and everything seems fine.

Hopefully Windows 7's reputation so far will provide a better experience in the game itself.
