Hey all first time to ding max lvl on any character...now lvl 80 sk ogre!! Lol anyways an assassin was my main and started a sk and he kinda took over my main...assassin up to 74 and he was the highest char I had ever had before this.

Anyways I was wondering if some of you could help me out...I play on Nagafen at I do not raid. I solo pvp alot and the guild I am in is kinda small. I just hit 80 and have all lvl 72 MC weapons and armor...with quest jewlery from jungle and moores (some nice stuff) but havn't found replacement armor or weapons.. Now that I am lvl 80 I can hit shard runs for the Void tokens and start on my tier 1 armor set I supose but what weapon should I go for for not being able to raid? Is the lvl 72 mc weapon kinda the best choice for me right now? Can't seem to find any better weapon on broker atm either. Thanks for your help

Dreadwolf

lvl 80 sk

Jheran

lvl 74 Assassin

Start up your epic weapon quest. You don't need a raid to get the Fabled version, but you will need to group some of it. Also, run the RoK instances. Crypt of Agony, Vaults, Maiden's, Chelsith. I'm sure there is something in there you could find useful. Maybe Anaphylaxis (sp?) has a decent reward (I don't remember). Then, as you said, start doing TSO instances and start collecting shards.

...and GRATS for reaching 80!

I still have some more time before I level mine. He's almost 78 though! I just LOATHE the leveling in RoK (I know I could do Moors now, but RoK still has some use.....just annoying.), so it'll still be a while.

I was in this position a few months ago and know how hard it is to break into the next 'tier' so to speak. It seems to be a problem unique to tanks as you can rarely just bring another tank to overcome your not being uber enough as you can with most other classes.

I took the step by getting into as many shard mission zones as possible. Obviously you can only do the easier instances such as DF, Scion and Caverns first (unless you can sneak in there as dps or have friends willing to take you along even though they have a better geared tank already) but as you acquire enough shards and start to wear the t1 armour and shard jewelry you will be able to attempt the slightly tougher zones.

Also, talk to other tanks and learn the zones, many times you can clear a zone which would otherwise need a better geared tank just because of knowing the mobs and the tactics to get them down.

Personally I would get all your t1 gear and then a full set of bling, where appropriate, before going for t2. The shard jewelry will probably be more of an upgrade to your existing jewelry than your t2 armour would be to your t1. Naturally, once blinged out get the t2 armour as an upgrade to your t1.

Fully t2 and blinged, you should be able to do any of the TSO group instances, you could also then get into some pick up WoE raids, especially as an OT, which will likely bring you at least a couple of patterns of t3 armour even if you don't manage to get passed Digg.

Hope this helps,

Zim

I'm hoarding the shards I get from my 2 80s, so I can get my SK geared up when he hits 80. I'm still not sure if I want to get full T1 and the Stone Tower jewelry (and maybe Holytide as well) or if I should just save up to get full T2 right away because of the crit mit.

For grouping, it depends on the rest of your gear, and how fast you and your groupmates are trying to push your limits. I got more out of the jewelry first as well (after the shoulders).

The first TSO zones don't really need any crit mit to get through (its not a neccessity to get through the Everfrost, Lavastorm and CL zones). If you're trying to hop right into Guk after a few runs of the others, you'll probably get smeared without it (and some more AAs).

If you end up doing some raiding, there's tons of crit mit items...so you can skip right by the shard gear if you're not in a crucial role (MT/OT) or if you're progressing slowly (doing and redoing all the early zone mobs). You can then mix and match with some of the dropped gear for missing crit mit slots.

Great information, thanks all! Just dinged 80 SK myself yesterday. Going to start my Epic as soon as possible.

I don't plan on doing any serious raiding with my SK. I wanted to level up a tank so my guild would have another option for doing group zones/shards/x2, etc. I won't say it's out of the question raiding with him, but I'd rather do a lot of group content first to learn how to do my job right. My other 80s are a Ranger and Mystic, so tanking will be a whole new thing to learn. So, I guess I should get T1 armor and jewelry to start. Does Stone Tower and Holytide seem like a good idea? I'd fill the remaining slots with legendary drops and my Thuuga bangle.
