I just got my new dell laptop and tried to install EQ and got this message :

This machine appears to be below minimums and EQ2 will not operate CPU speed 14 < 1000 MHz

I don't understand! I have a 2.5 GHz processor and 4 gigs of ram, the dell people made sure it met EQ requirements before I ordered it and had it made. Do I need to open up some more CPU speed or something?

That's very odd. If your CPU is supposed to be 2.5GHz and you're getting the error, there may be a program on your system set to adjust CPU speed depending on it's temperature. That, or the computer may be largely underclocked by default.

Can you check through your BIOS to see how your CPU speed is set?

"Can you check through your BIOS to see how your CPU speed is set?"

Can you tell me how to do this? I'll be happy to do so once I understand how!

I think I figured it out - Pressed F2 during startup to enter setup. I'm not sure if this is what information you had been asking for but here is what I saw:

Current click speed: 2.000 GHz

Min Clock Speed: 1.200 GHz

Max Clock Speed: 2.000 GHz

If thats not the information you wanted then just tell me what to look under or look for once I enter the setup screen. Thanks, and sorry for not being REAL computer savvy. Lol
