New lore books short term availabilty [Archive]

Apparently according to the latest Zam Preview of the update; starting some time around Fanfaire we will have a book placed on random vendors for like a week. Apparently these books we will get every so often leading to expansion but only available for a short time. So we all will need to coordinate a search to find what vendors when this goes in.

no, not player made books. Those are going to stay forever. We're talking about new lore books dedicated to the next expansion.Just like the Seerress book you got from the Temple of Life hidden lore quest before TSO opened. Stuff pertaining to the next expansion.

Well guys... as much as i dont wish to shamelessly plug Befallen.lore.. as the WW channel aside from when Vhalen's been popping in it recently. I suggest we use it as the "hub" to let each other know where these new books are purchased at once we find them in-game

It wouldn't work for spreading the info simply because it would be a horribly spammy disorganized mess.Just create a new thread here and update it as locations are found (and confirmed). Make sure the OP gives a standard format like "All submissions should be in this format: Zone - NPC Name - (loc,loc,loc) - Book Sold"So for instance:Everfrost - Emma McMannon - (0,0,-0) - "101 Everyday Uses for a Kilt", "Drinks of Halas", "OMG It Came From the Sky!"Then I'm sure after a few days someone will post it on Wiki. Maybe they will remember to note these are limited availability items?

I built up enough faction with the Order of Rime to check thier faction merchants. They don't have any books. I haven't checked Lavastorm or Moors yet. Sage Indus in South Qeynos has nothing new.Edit: Nothing around the landing zone in Moors or in Lavastorm.Checked the Shady Swashbuckler in Nektulos and he has nothing. Nothing in the Village of Shin either.

Believe I checked every viable merchant in Freeport, nothing there. Going to check the merchants in the outlying areas then start sweeping Commonlands.

I have not tried...is it possible for players to copy books authored by other players?If so we might be able to make unlimited copies of the official lore books. It would be nice to have them given out in limited time events, but still obtainable after that if you meet someone who can make you a copy.

Yeah, I don't remember them ever patching anything over the weekends except for really big emergencies. I doubt they'd put the book in over the weekend.

I hope there is some sort of mention as to when these go in, rather a cryptic message in the Motd or sometihng slid into the patcher notes. I dont want to know WHERE they are I just want to know WHEN they go in so were not just running around for nothing.

They do hotfixes on a certain basis (about weekly). He said it's going to go in with the next one, so we just have to wait until then. It'll probably be tomorrow is my guess.

Okay so... here's what happened.Basically, I wrote up this clue for you guys, and I was going to post it as text. But when I showed it to community, we thought, "You know, it would be cooler if we presented it to them like this!" like a full pic all colored out and awesome looking. "YEAH!" we thought. "That'll be way better than lame old text!"So here's the moral to the story: If you're going to have a bright idea, plan it for the day BEFORE you're supposed to give your loyal readers a piece of information they are looking for. All right, important safety tip, thanks Egon.Anyway, it looks like it is still coming tonight, and by Brell's beard, I'm staying here until I get it, and I will post it immediately. If there is a change in plans and it won't be tonight, I will post and tell you that, too, so at least you know when to expect it.I'm really sorry that it's taken so long, but lesson learned.
