Or some other way I can just tell it to make 4 of "x" and 4 of "y" and then press a button and go eat lunch? Or do I have to sit and make every single item every single time?

This game requires you accually PLAY the game to progress, so no there is no way to do what you say without violating the EULA.

You get to sit and make every item (some items are made in groups of two though...like food and drink). Unattended game play is a no-no according to the EULA so what you are requesting would be against the EULA rules and, if someone did make a program like this, I'm sure they wouldn't advertise it on the official forums or in-game to complete strangers.

There are apparently such programs out there, but they are prohibited by the EULA and if you get caught using them you may get the ban hammer.

Well I wasn't asking for a cheat, I just thought there might be some "create all" function that I'd missed. Most games I've played have this built-in for mindlessly tedious things where there's no real chance for failure.

But yeah, I forgot this was the EQ2 boards where you all walked uphill to school both ways in a blizzard without shoes or a coat. Sorry I asked if there was a coat.

Crafting has become truly tedious -- especially with all the faction quests needed to get certain books. It has turned crafting into a truly mindless grind -- needs to be more quest to get the faction not mindlessly cranking out stupid items for an NPC.

This game accually has you crafting items.

Also if you want to have a true risk of falure maybe you should try the craftin instances... you will fail alot in there if you don't know what you are doing.

Tradeskilling is tedious but, unless you want to break the EULA, there's no getting around it. This is precisely why I only have one level 80 tradeskiller...I couldn't make a tradeskill alt and go through it all over again.

Thanks for the replies. I was worried I'd missed something, and that 80 levels later I'd find out there's an easier way.

The catch is, you can't leave it unattended. I believe that is to help people with disabilities that want to play EQ2.

So lets just say you've got carple tunnle but you really want to continue crafting. You go out into the intratoobs and find yourself a script bunny that isn't a secret trojan build to steal your EQ2 account AND your credit card numbers. You set up your bot to craft for you. And...you watch it actually do the crafting. While that's going on you chat a bit with your guild and catch up with the people you don't talk to all the time.

Maybe you do some suduku on the side, or read a book at the computer. In all these cases your fine.

Lets just say a GM wants to talk to you and your off making lunch. That's a no-no. If you leave the computer, your suppose to turn off the script. That's the attented part of the agreement. If your going to use a tool, you have to be there to watch it. Even if your just taking a quick bio break your not attending the computer. I don't think the GM is going to reach for the ban hammer on the first offense, but I do think they will keep an eye on you if you ever get caught.

So, if you don't need the script my advice would be don't use one. That way you eliminate the temptation to violate the EULA. If you do need one, I'm sure you'll be happy enough to be able to continue playing and won't mind the part where you have to actually watch your computer.

You may not create, facilitate, host, link to or provide any other means through which the Game may be played by others, such as through server emulators. You may not decrypt or modify any data transmitted between client and server and you may not use, post, host or distribute macros, "bots" or other programs which would allow unattended game play or which otherwise impact game play. You may not take any action which imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure. Except in connection with Live Gamer Exchange and subject to all of the provisions of the Live Gamer Terms of Service, you may not buy, sell or auction (or host or facilitate the ability to allow others to buy, sell or auction) any Game account, characters, items, coin or copyrighted material or any other intellectual property owned or controlled by us or our licensors without first obtaining our express written permission.

Now I do not see an interpretation for a person with a disability being able to use third party software in that. I guess if you really reach you could claim the "unattended game play" portion of the clause as allowing it while you are sitting in front of the machine, but I think the first sentence would make that a very slippery slope.

The don't modify the code. Rather they "watch" portions of the screen that you define and react to certain patterns, color switches or other triggers you set up. You've seen the verify signs that use wierd looking letters, mismatched fonts and colors, and pictures instead of text and ask you to type it in, right? All of that is to prevent scripting programs from being set up to essentially automate forum registration in an attempt to prevent abuse. Mostly these scripting programs are used for malicious purposes. There are some legitimate uses for them though, and even some people that set them up in a way that others would call malicious except they don't use them beyond a reasonable extent.

So the next time you see one of those verify signs you shouldn't get annoyed. Just be glad the site your registering on is taking the extra precautions to reduce the amount of "enlargement" ads being posted.

Though if you did use this kind of scripting program, it could be argued its still against the EULA since technically it could be used unattended, you just arn't. Then again, how would a GM know you were using a script if your sitting at the keyboard and answered their first tell? Meh. Just better not to use them at all.

Does anyoen know if there's simply a mod that says goes "ding" when a...err...incident/thingy/mistake pops up where you need to respond in 4 seconds with the right button/fix??

I don't mind sitting there crafting, but sometimes I look away and of course that's RIGHT when the stupid incident/mistake pops and I'm rushing to get the button pushed - or when I'm starting to nod off...*chuckles*

So any mod that does that?

(and yea I play another craft heavy game, believe it or not, this system is more fun... that system is more focused on having to farm literally thousands of resources to make bricks to build onto your plot..- and no furniture This one at least doesn't have you farming for hours on end to make 10% of what you need ..and the little "Minigame" of buttons isn't so bad...)

It's not really a "mod" but Profit UI does have an advanced Tradeskill window that allows you to search your Recipe book WHILE you craft another item. I've found it very usefull and makes Rush Orders possible even at lower level's.

If you listen closly you can hear when the crafting cycle finishes, it is at this point that the Whack-a-mole Icon will or will not be there, (it pops up at the start of the next cycle, IF the RNG says to pop it up)
