Right click the executable and select run as administrator every time you launch EQ2 (in addition to going into the properties and checking the box to run as administrator). I have been working on a fix to this but I haven't got it figured out yet. I used to just be able to click the executable and it would run fine, then something happened and now I have to do this every time. It may suck but its really just an extra couple of seconds.

If that doesn't work, turn off UAC (User Account Control). Since turning that off, I haven't had an issue running the game.

I'm having the exact same problem as this person here when I run the game normally. If I go to run as admin, I don't even make it to the login and patcher instead the soe launcher just keeps going in circles. It says loading... connecting... scanning file... recieving file launchpad.exe... and then it flashes for a second and repeats from the beginning.

Switching off user account control just made it so I couldn't get past the launchpad at all, even without running as admin.

Please help, very frustrating... I hate vista. The game was working fine this morning btw.

I can also suggest a fix - This is more along the lines of working around the UAC than disabling it completely. Though disabling it is an option if wanted you to go that route.

1. Make sure you are logged in on an Administrator account.2. Navigate to the Station Launcher folder (Usually c:program filessonystation will contain the Station Launcher folder)3. Right click on the Station Launcher folder and go to properties4. Click on the Security Tab5. Click on the Edit button.6. Go through each username or group listed and make sure all "Allow" boxes are checked7. Ensure that no "Deny" boxes are checked and click OK.
