<p>Ive noticed that mine and mywife's systems are starting to slow down, tried defragging the systems and found out how bad windows vista's defrag is..</p><p>anyone know of a better one?</p>

<p>I used to use disk keeper because it allowed me to arrange the load order and speed up the time it took to start windows.  It worked pretty well from what I remember, but these days I simply use the windows defrag tool.  You might want to check some reviews to see make sure it works well with today's computers.  It seems they are still around with the following website:</p><p><a href="http://www.diskeeper.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.diskeeper.com/</a></p><p>You might want to check if Vista is saving restore points and backing up files as well.  A vista installation tends to get bigger and bigger over time because of the way it backs up everything.  I believe SP2 added the ability to trim away some of those excess files if you want to free some space and improve performance.</p>
