Research Assistants vs. Crafters

<p>All of the arguments for and against the RAs aside, if the players are to be given a non-combat way to obtain Masters, why has crafting them not been discussed?  Have a special Master level recipe book (a la Ancient Teachings scrolls) that requires all of the components to craft the master be rare.  That is, if a spell normally requires a wood, gem, and root to craft it, the Master would require the rare wood, rare gem, and rare root of that tier to craft.  Make the Master level recipe book a quest reward (maybe like the Harvesting cloak series; one quest per tier to get the masters for that tier), and get both sides of the community (adventurers & crafters) involved in the distribution of Masters across Norrath. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<p>They already are. You must have the Adept III version scribed before you can use the Research Assistant. With drops you can just scribe any tier, something I find fundamentall wrong. You can go from wow I just learned the existence of this new spell to Master of the new spell in 2 seconds by scribing the book. Spell progression needs to be looked at more closely anyway.</p>
