On a related subject (see Evil in Kelethin) I would like to utilize the nice leveling environments of Darklight Woods & TD to level my Mystic. I was able to get my level 1 Mystic all the way to the Darklight newbie area without a single death but the initial quest-givers are inside the stockade with 2 guards blocking the way. Instant death.

I am wondering if I can utilize Darklight for level 10+ quests (my real goal). What level would I need to be? Would some sort of invisibility potion work? What about TD?

Thanks for any help --

My advise, go too TD, there's no KOS guards there unless you upset them.

How does a low-level good character get to TD?

Travel to Gorowyn then swim South East IIRC

Don't think you can take the griffons from Gorowyn at least you couldn't at that level the last time I tried it.

A good character can do some of the Darklight quests, but it REALLY requires you to watch the paths of the guards very carefully. As has already been mentioned, Timorous Deep, while officially evil, is really very laissez-faire and won't attack or penalize a good character.

Now, one caveat: I'm speaking of PVE servers. On PVP, one can expect that there will be significant danger from players of evil alignment in Darklight and Timorous Deep.

For a good character to get to TD in either Kelethen or Qeynos take the carpet to sinking sands. There is a carpet in Qeynos harbor, the one in kelethin is a bit harder to explain. Maybe someone can help with that.

Once in SS right click on the carpet by the merchant and choose "return to Butcherblock" From there go up the beach until you see where you can go up the hill. There is a griffon there that will take you to TD.

This link should help

http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Timorous_Deep#Travel

If your good...once you get into TD from the BBM griffon, just kill yourself on a guard or somethin. It will rez you on the newbie island. You still gotta run back to the beginning there, but much faster than running from the grif area.

Second platform up, I think?

Another simpler way - - take the boat to Kunark from either CL or Antonica docks - once at the Kunark docks run around to the other dock and there is a bell to Gorowyn.

Thanks all -- I made it fine to TD at level 7 with Kerran Mystic. No problem whatsoever with guards (unlike Darklight). I think I will try again at about level 15-16 at DW. Anyone know what level the guards are there?

Having recently played the trial and tried all of the starting areas I have to say that Darklight Wood and Timorous Deep are great (just a shame that the cities related to them aren't) They offer a cohesive storyline, not too many quests and advance you through the zones nicely.

On the other hand if Faydark was the only area available on the trial then I wouldn't have upgraded to the full game, its muddled, has far too many quests, vague directions to quests and seemed to grind to a halt in the mid teens when all of my quests were green/grey, it also seemed to be lacking in crafting nodes.

The newbie islands were ok, if only the crafting tutorial could be done on them, seems odd to have a craft area and no tutorial (unless I was being dumb and missing the npc). They also seem to lack direction once you leave the island, after the initial racial mentor the quest areas don't make themselves immediately obvious.

The above is probably the reason why I have 3 evil alts and no good guy yet, now I may try to take a good alt through TD, so thanks for the info on 'how to'

By that time you should be well over level 20 and be ready for T3 areas(TS, nek, BB). Is there a particular item you are after that you are so determined to level in DW? To my knowledge it isn't that popular a leveling ground.

Actually, I find DW one of the two best leveling places (along with TD). The place is compact so not much running around and you can quickly get through 1-20. I like the Arasai with 5% runspeed & glide so I am used to leveling in DW. I usually will flip-flop between TD & DW so I stay about 5 levels above the quests for quick leveling.

Since I am used to DW & like it, it was only natural to want to do it with a good class.

I must be a masochist as the ordered chain quests in DW and TD bore me to tears - I do them as they can be done so fast, but look forward far more to the old world tier 2 areas where I have to fossick around in every corner to find things, get quest starter drops from random mobs etc. I agree wholeheartedly that GF and Kelethin are the worst though.

As to the guard levels and locations in DW - about lvl 30 - some 25's - all heroics. Unfortunately there are guards stationed at the first location offering lvl 10+ quests, but the wanderlust fair does not have any. I noticed over the past few days that the warg mounted lvl 30 guards that used to roam stayed still for the entire time I was there - one near the shrillers and one on the path near the sableflames. There is a lvl 25 near the CL entrance but far enough back to dodge around - but he comes into play when the wisp quests are being done - can be avoided, but look out.

Once again, there are guards stationed at the tree (can't remember the name) that has the quests following the wanderlust quests, so only the wanderlust quests are realistically available to appropriate level good aligned characters.
