I am very bored at my job as the only thing I do all night is surf the internet. I have very little user access on the computer I use so I can not install anything. Long story short the computers don't have updated java so I couldnt watch youtube or hulu so I stumbled across Firefox mobile and put it on a flash drive. This made me think... Is there an eq2 mobile? Or if I were to just copy my whole eq2 folder to a flash drive would this work? Also would it leave anything behind..like new registry entries and what not? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Nope, not even a little bit. The list of reasons why is about as long as my arm and begins with the fact that there isn't an operating system for mobile devices that is the same as Windows. Even Windows Mobile is actually completely different than Windows, although they try to provide a very similar experience for developers. Secondly, processors on mobile devices are completely different than your desktop/laptop. Even the station launcher, I've recently discovered, uses the same basic components to talk to the chat servers and apparently won't be easily ported to other platforms, such as your phone.

There were questions from the devs a couple years about mobile experiences and what people wanted on the go as far as interacting with EQ. Not playing the game, mind you, but extraneous things. I for one would love to see in game mail available on my mobile phone for a starter. Another thing I'd like to see is my guild calendar (which doesn't even exist in EQ2) and calendars of guild alliances. However, I haven't heard a peep recently about mobile serivces at all.

You could probably use the guild chat on the web to stay in touch, and maybe you'd be able to play Free Realms.

I am sorry I guess that I was not clear enough in my post and that I probably should have used a different word other than mobile. I do not want to play eq on my phone I still want to play it on the actuall computer at work which I am allowed to do I just cannot install anything. That is why I was asking if I were to put it on a flash drive thumb drive zip drive whatever you like to call them if it would play on the computer that way.... and if it would leave anything behind like any regristry entries or whatever else!

And thanks for the responses so far!

Honestly, I think it would work if you had a flash drive with a high enough capacity. Simply copy the entire Everquest 2 directory to the flash/zip/whatever drive and put it in the other computer. Obviously that drive will need some write permissions so that it can update itself. I think it might try to install a couple registry keys, though. You might be able to block that install and still play, but I can't say for sure.

The loading times will probably be bad and using a flash drive like that will wear it out pretty fast, but I think it's possible.
