Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me out with this one.

Suddenly, I am no longer able to connect to the server. The launchpad shows up twice, asks me for my password etc. and I end up in the launchpad window just fine. After that, it won't let me log into the game.

I've tried the test suggested in one of the posts below, and the result=fail to connect to servers.

I have no clue how to fix this though. I don't have a firewall enabled. Could use some suggestions

Which test are you running that you're getting the 'failed to connect' message? If you're talking about the tracert/pathping tests, could you try running ipconfig to see if you are getting a valid IP? It almost sounds like there's something broken between your ISP and us. I have included a full set of tracert tests below so we can see what happens when you try to connect.

Please open up the Start menu, choose the Run command, type "command" in the space provided, then hit Enter. If you're using Win2k type "cmd" instead of command. For Vista, "type command" at the search bar on the bottom of the Start Menu. The MS-DOS Prompt window should appear with the prompt, "C:windowsdesktop". For Win98/ME or Win2K/XP/Vista, type the following three DOS commands, one at a time, hitting Enter between each command, and waiting for the prompt to reappear: ipconfig /all > c:eq2info.txt tracert unrest.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt tracert najena.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt Then try the following command so we can see if you can connect to the Euro servers: tracert storms.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt Finally, the German server: tracert valor.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt

Once you've run those you can find the eq2info file on your C: drive and paste the contents in this thread.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I tried your suggestions. Even though I can't seem to find those log files in any folder on my C drive, I've ran each command (I use Vista).

Every command gave me an "access denied" (well, translated from Dutch that is). Does this tell you anything?

Go to the shortcut for the ms-dos window and right click and run as administrator

How would I do this?

I don't see any shortcut for ms-dos, and don't have the option to r-click anything to run as administrator.

Then give that shortcut administrator permissions. Pin that link in your start list, or quick bar for ease of access.

There's other ways to give permanent admin rights to the commandline, but this is just easier to impliment, without disabling UAC.

thanks for the instructions. I've managed to run the tracer correctly now. Below I've pasted the logs (since some of it is in Dutch, I'll try and translate it best as I can, in red.
