Due to a 'mishap' I'm having to download EQ2 from scratch and I am slightly concerned about the download time.

I started it at around 1am (BST) and it promised an ETA of 8 hours, so I left it on and went to bed. At 9am, it was at 18%. Not what I expected, but fair enough, and left it running. It's now almost 8pm and I'm (puzzlingly) at 3%.

I'm running win 7 (as I have been with no troubles for about 6 months) though this is a clean installation. EQ2 was the first thing I tried to get sorted. I'm on a 10Mb connection with a 1Mb upload in the UK. No router, firewall, antivirus etc installed as yet, and there's nothing else much going on. I'm running it as admin with xp sp2 compat mode on (not sp3).

I've been trying the speed test found at http://launcher.station.sony.com/sp...test/index.html and have been getting results within 5% of each other. The latest was Download Speed: 2008 kbps (251 KB/sec transfer rate)28 May 2009 19:53:46

Checking out the network usage via resource monitor, it's showing abelpconfig1.patch.sony.station.com at around 61 KB/sec and laelpconfig2.patch.sony.station.com at around 32 KB/sec.

Is there really nowhere I can officially download the full game from without having to go through the launcher? Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great tool and I don't remember having any troubles with it previously, but this isn't much fun and we were going to be sorting out a myth update for me tonight

Finally got it all downloaded just after 2am, so it took 25 hours. That's pretty bad really.

Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the patcher might have been stuck on a file for some reason. In many cases you can correct this by simply closing and restarting the launchpad. The launchpad will remember where it left off so you wont need to redownload anything.

Also, where did you install the game to? I know Vista has special protections placed on certain folders but I do not know how Windows 7 handles that.
