I'm looking to find lore on the very secret Freeport Emissaries. These guys are seen when doing the Qeynos Claymore timeline if you're evil, and if you complete your Mythical, you become a Curator within the society.

But for the life of me I can't find the logs or anything of the NPC's that I talked to for my epic.

Are there more of these guys and is there any basic lore on them or anything? It seems like they're the inner-network workers of the Overlord. Half Secret Service, half FBI, half Mafia.

Parralel to the Emissaries seems to be the Green Hoods, I think.

yeah the green hoods seem to be the 'good' version and the emissaries the 'evil' version. from the little lines in KP about them, and the stuff from KoS...they seem to be like the CIA/NSA of thier respective city.

If the Green Hoods look like to be mostly Rangers...maybe -any- scout arch type, could it be Emissaries are a certain type, as well? They seem more NPC-blandish than the Green Hoods, but this may be because robes are given to the bland, static and unimportant NPC's.

Unless if it's said or clear that Green Hoods are confirmed more than Scouts.

The green hoods originated in Zek the Orcish Wastelands which is what remains of Surefall Glade/Jaggedpine forest. Back in EQ1 that was where the Karana and Tunare worshiping humans started out a short jaunt from Qeynos which posted guards just outside of that area. Rangers and Druids abounded there.

Flash forward to EQ2 and the Orcs have moved in. The Greenhoods are the remanents of the holy order that lived in and protected the woods (and the bears). The Greenhoods took in refugees much like The Farseas Trade Company did. While they have a disproportinate number of rangers and druids amongst them, I never got the feeling they were just that.

You also run into a lady called "Dancer" in Antonica near the claymore monument. She turns out to be an agent of qeynos and cryptically hints she is a friend of the green, which could be taken as a greenhood.

In either case, starting with Kingdom of Sky expansion we see the Greenhoods becomming a spy ring for Qeynos, a counter organization to the Freeport Emissaries which you run into from various quests all through your career in Freeport. This continues in Kunark with you play both sides against each other in the "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" spoof questline there.

Most of the Freeport Emissaries you run into seem like self-important thugs more interested in getting you to do their dirty work than getting information. The ones you meet arn't exactly secretive or spies. You do get hints that there are others though. I suspect the dark elf that helps introduce you to several factions in Jasarath Wastes might be an informent for the Freeport Emissaries. They also use listning crystals extesnively so someone around there has some guile and isn't showing themselves at every opportunity.

If you want real spy work done though, other orginizations seem more effective. Thexian agents, Mayong's agents, even the Shadowmen tend to do it better.
