If you can get ahold of the very old Prima players guide for EQ2, it has some detailed information on racial naming conventions.

As I recall, Erudite names tend to be very long tongue twisters.

Run your hand across the keyboard. Remove symbols, numbers and any line breaks. I kid you not, Erudite names look a lot like that

Alot of Erudite names are somewhat influenced by African and middle eastern linguistics.

Especially in EQ Live, many had AL'xxx and El'xxx surnames.

Al'Kabor is an example.

Miragul is another example of Erudite naming.

Before whatever happened on Odus, Erudite names had some African and Middle Eastern influences. AFTER whatever happened on Odus it seems they took to abandoning such 'humanizing' factors, and their names are now rather long and difficult to spell.

I remember someone told me something on this topic -- that Erudite names, at least last names, are an incantation for ancient or special spells, and that most of the Erudite names we know of are shortened versions, because 1) we shouldn't be haphazardly speaking magic and/or 2) ancient magic hasn't been clearanced for our silly ears and/or 3) they're just too darn freakin' long.

However, I don't remember how much of what I just typed above was random speculation between us, how much is a rumor, how much is made-up, how much is true... None of that could be true. I dunno. Erudites kinda freak me out, personally. d:

Ah ha! I found it.

EQ2 Roleplayers' Union on Guild Portal: Roleplaying Your Race

I used this guide for naming my husbands and my characters. At the bottom of each guide are Naming Conventions for the race.

I stuck with the traditional Erudite names when naming my husbands Erudites; Akheem, Rahim etc.

There's also this from EQ1: Character Names in EverQuest
