View Full Version : GU52 new Kunark quest lines - bugs and feedback

<p>A mysterious army has appeared upon the shores of Kunark and begun pillaging the land and slaughtering those that oppose them. Citizens of Dreg's Landing in Kylong Plains, Sathir's Span in Fens of Nathsar, the City of Jinisk in Kunzar Jungle and Danak's Upper Command Camp in Jarsath Wastes are looking for your help in learning about the invaders and defeating them.</p><p>The Bellywhumpers in Fens of Nathsar have been alarmed by the appearance of a Void anchor within Kurn's tower. Those that have already worked for the burynai clan should speak with Pulnil the Hagler to help with their investgation.</p><p><span style="text-decoration: line-through;">Currently, there are many issues with the quests that are known, including quest givers in Kylong Plains not being spawned, lack of uniforms, and some NPCs saying "hail dialog" when hailed. (Whoops!)</span> But I encourage you to post any bugs and feedback you have about the quest lines here to better ensure I do not miss it.</p><p>Thanks and have fun!</p><p>*Edited to reflect that as of 6/2 the quest givers in Kylong Plains are present, they have uniforms and no longer say "Hail dialog".</p>

<p>The Second Quest of the Sathir's Span line "Seek and Destroy" seems uncompleteable as it gives you a copy of one of the tasks, "I am to locate the Order of Rite's first camp" which doesn't seem to update anywhere,</p><p>After moving to the Jinisk quests to kill Ice Contructs they seem to be very rare and have a long respawn time for a quest that needs you to slay 8 of the things.</p>

<p>there is suposed to be a quest giver in Dregs landing in KP yet when I was there, there was no one with quests that I could see besides the faction quest givers.</p>

Nothing was removed from game. Indus no longer sells the Freeport citizenship book, as he is the Qeynos merchant. Navarius no longer sells the Qeynos citizenship tome as he is the Freeport merchant.</p>

(There's two on the edge of the Swamp of No Hope and one at the base of the falls.) </p><p>I'll up the number of Ice Contructs.</p><p>LtColWulff, the lack of quest givers at Dregs landing in Kylong Plains was a known issue, but I appreciate the heads up!</p>

I seem to have trouble locating.</p><p>Third edit, The quest "Swamp Fire Defense" is truly uncompletable as when you place a ward (quest item) it consumes all 6 of the warding items in your inventory and the NPC even when poked has an error in giving more of the ward items.</p>

<p>I posted this on another thread because I didnt know were to put it. But, This is Discord all over again from EQ 1, The Void have taken over Kurns, theres a army taking over Kunark ect. PLEASE dont ruin this game like the Discord stuff drove players out of EQ 1</p>

When Gates/Omens came out in EQI, people were getting Planes of Power raid geared, some Time geared. So to keep interest in the game they up'd the difficulty level of Gates/Omens expansions to rediculous levels.</p><p>It was pretty much reserved for solid raid geared groups or raid forces. It was difficult to explore in a casual or solo/duo senario. I can attest to the exasperation I felt playing EQI at that time because you had two choices for content. Play Planes of Power to get a chance at good gear , which could take you 10 or more 3 hour raids per piece. Or take your chances in a pickup Gates group etc. For me, a semi-casual player at the time, neither was a great option. I then came to EQII.(and happy I did).</p><p>That said, I do not think the powers that be would dare follow that same mistake this time. Though I could be wrong <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/2786c5c8e1a8be796fb2f726cca5a0fe.gif" border="0" />.</p>

I can't see any creature of true dragon origin being used as an ocean going sled-dog, which seems to be their purpose here.</p>

<p>Clothes Off Their Backs quest in Fens is bugged for me. I acquired the required armor components. Quest states I should return to Revliss. Howevr, Revliss is not highlighted for quest completion and just says they are waiting for the complete set of armor when I hail him.</p><p>Unable to advance quest at this point. Bugged it in game as well.</p>

<p>If you read the dialog when you get the quest, you'll notice that he says to take the armor to someone in Riliss, and even though the quest journal says to take it back to him, if you go to Riliss you will see the NPC that updates the quest.</p><p>The bug is in who the quest journal says to talk to next.</p>

Yeah, they're just used as 'sled dogs' here. I couldn't explore up top because it was guarded by two 80^^^'s who see invisible. I'm guessing there will be a zone-in for a dungeon here at some point...

<p>For "No Word From the Field" in JW, I found a dead Agent of Danak in the Traitor's Pass, but it won't let me update the quest. I'm assuming you have to find the field agents in the proper order to update the quest. Would make more sense to me (assuming this is the right agent) to let you find them in any order.</p><p>*Update* I've found multiple Agents of Danak in Traitors Pass, and none of them update the quest.</p><p>*Update* I found one Agent of Danak by the lake in Stonehoof Badlands, and it didn't update either. Am I missing something?</p>

<p>I don't think the game is ready for velious yet. It needs to a be a truly epic expansion.</p><p>Odus is doable with the current team/design.</p><p>Maybe when the game mechanics are stable and they can devote a good amount of time to the expansion then i say go for velious. Like if odus focused on the tier 9 progression velious could come in as the expansion after and deal purely with the content instead of focusing on proper leveling areas.</p>

<p>Xalmat, if you go from Ganak's Battlement toward traitor's pass from the Venril Crown side, you will find all 6 in the right order as if you were going to the Skleross Camp and then to the Badlands.</p><p>They are all there.</p><p>** Edit to add, a few quests into this series is bugged however, I had added a question about it in this thread. However, one of the Iksar ladies, the one on the left, her series runs all the way through. <p>Stuck on the quest dry ice i cant seem to find the mobs for it. Ive run all over the area around the city of the mist. Are the mobs not in or am i blind</p><p>Edit-</p><p>For the quest Swamp fire defense the green shiny at -509.79,-71.75,481.39 is un clickable.Shiny at -597.73,-46.27,361.36 as well.Shiny at -427.84,-82.21,595.11. The other green shiny at -67.40,-117.97,1,008.79 is unharvestable as well. <img src="file:///C:/Users/ADMINI~1/AppData/Local/Temp/moz-screenshot.jpg" />the other shiny by the gate for outerseb wards was harvestable. Other than that couldnt find the last shiny in trakaraptor alley. Assume the same with it not being able to be harvested.</p><p>Ill edit the post as i find more bugs</p>

<p>Quest: Elemental's Amongst Us</p><p>Location: Kunzar Jungle - City of Jinisk</p><p>First thing I notice is the amount of elementals is sparce. When this hits live there is going to be a lot of players waiting for spawns. There should be more spawns and more spread out.</p>

<p>on clothes of their backs i got the harvestable items and the 2 mob updates but when i go back to the quest giver he wont update the quest just says to go see the next npc i assume in the quest. maybe change the quest giver to tell u were the mob to turn in at is would be nice.</p>

<p>Ok the quest elemental task which i picked up from the rime guys out on the ice sheet just says quest description. and for the harvestables it says part description over top of them. ANd infiltration system currently gives +0 faction with rillis.</p>

<p>You can do them in whatever order you want it seems. They're also level appropriate for the zone, which is a big plus in my book.</p>

I'm glad they listened and didn't make huge quest chains that cannot be deviated from. This will be awesome for guild groups who want to whip out these quests.

<p>Brigh, there are some quests that are 'linear progressive' but they won't let you do them until you've done the required previous ones. So, to answer your question, if the quest is offered to you, then you are free to accept it in the order of your choosing.</p>

<p>Another update to give!</p><p>I just finished doing my first pass on the 20 quests in Kunzar Jungle. I don’t know when these will make it to the Test servers, but they're on their way. Next I will be starting on the bugs with the quests in Jarsath Wastes.</p><p>Enjoy the weekend!</p>

I think SOE understands we search the trademarks so this year I have feeling they won't register the trademark until after Fan Faire.</p>

<p>I started working on some of these last night and seem to have done the Jinsk ones through. My observation all these provide neg faction hits to Order of Rime. This begins at max neg to begin with. Will there be a line that will improve that factionn so we could use the vendors out on the Sheet?</p>

I'd suspect most people have already done them, and if people know in advance they will be needed for the new quests, they can get them done before hand. Further, when RoK was launched, there was far more demand for the pages than I think you'll see now, and respawn rates were not an issue.</p>

And it should include all of the changes and bug fixes that I made this last week, including the following callouts:</p><p>Kunzar Jungle *The number of illusive ice constructs within Jinisk for Zikana Sly'ssar's quest "Elementals Amongst Us" has been increased.*Those seeking ice creatures for Khassp Xivvix's quest "Dry Ice" should examine ice shards found upon the ground near the City of Mist.*Slixin Drusar now offers replacement wards for those on the quest "Swamp Fire Defense".</p><p>Fens of Nathsar *Revliss Dru'shyv's quest "Clothes Off Their Backs" now correctly identifies Sliza Xarezia as the NPC you must speak with in order to complete the quest.</p>

<p><span style="color: #ffcc99;">For the quest, "Enter the Jungle", I jumped off cliff by Eastern Pens into the river below and ran on the beach to KJ, and there was no quest mob popping.</span></p><p><span style="color: #ffcc99;">I went back into Fens, and this time I swam in the croc infested water while invis from the lift area towards KJ and finally got the lazy iksar update mob to spawn - perhaps it might be worth moving that mob pop closer to KJ since I suspect many people will BASE jump the massive fall into water for fun rather than take the boring lift ride to the river down below?</span></p>

<p>Neskonlith, The Order of Rime Faction should be listed under the faction tab "Unknown" as it is not a city, or a known continent faction.</p><p>Casting the Rime illusion does not negatively affect your character's true Order of Rime Faction, it adds to it (until you reach a certain amount).</p><p>And you are correct that with the update to the Test servers today the Water Elemental and Earth elemental issues for Skelbre's quest "Elemental Task" were resolved. That was one of the many issues I addressed in the last week.</p>

I'm working on the quest Chilled to the Bones, part of the new Kylong Plains line. Journal says I have to kill crumblinb spurbones, iksar skeletons just north of Dreg's Landing. The NPC text said "shardbone skeletons". I've killed literally tons of crumbling spurbones and either I've been very unlucky or there is something wrong somewhere. The previous quest in the line (Break the ice) asked for 6 weapon racks but I was only able to find 4. Luckily they reset and so I was able to click 2 of those 4 on the next day to get the update. But something should be wrong there too. Thanks

<p>Neskonlith,</p><p>If you are having a hard time getting Ride Watcher Zakor to give you the "find NPC" option, then the issue is faction based. Guards will not help you find other NPCs unless you are apprehensive or better. Be sure that you are using your Rime illusion to help raise your faction. But if this does not raise your faction with the Order enough, then it will once my changes from yesterday hit the Test servers. (The illusion grants more faction now!)</p>

Also in jw are u supposed to be able to examine the crates to get a quest for the rime? because it wont let me if you are it just highlights and says what evers in the crate. Also I found a bug for the quests fishing for faction and set of bone plates were it will not let u drop of the items after u have collected them all. Just tells whats in the crates like in jw</p>

Although I see no "Unknown" faction listed so I have no idea what my real faction is -- although apparently it can't get any worse.</p><p>Connecting the Dots - Could not find the 2nd scout. Saw a light but went up and around and found nothing? Could this be better explained in the quest notes or maybe something put on the map?</p>

On my first attempt I intentionally used the route I would have taken to go from Fens to Kunzar in normal circumstances, just to test whether the quest was able to catch my shortcuts.</p><p>I took the Sokokars to the Eastern Pens of Riliss, then followed the path until the lift. I didn't use the lift but carried on along the flat rocks as far as possible, then, with my hang-glider (aka Cloak of the Harvester) on I jumped off and glided down, passing into Kunzar Jungle before hitting the round.</p><p>I wasn't in the least surprised to find that didn't update. I zoned back into Fens and, invisible, rode on my mount along the beach to the lift. Nothing. I went up and down the lift. Nothing. I tried it visible. Nothing. I went up and back to East Riliss Pens, then came back along the road, down the lift, along the beach and zoned. Nothing. I tried the opposite beach. Nothing. I went to the opposite end of the cleft. Nothing.</p><p>By this point, although I could think of more variations, I thought I might have bugged the quest by zoning without the update, soi deleted it and went back to Fens and took it again. This time I got off the Sokokar at West Pens and rode along the path to the lift. Took the lift down, rode along the beach, visible this time. Nothing. I went back up and was about to ride back along the opposite side of the cleft when I thought I'd tab out and read this thread.</p><p>Finding Neskonlith's post I took the lift back down, invised and swam the length of the river. Finally the Iksar spawned and, along with a crocodile, attacked me and I got my update.</p><p>It seems to me that where the Iksar finally spawned was about the least likely place anyone would naturally pass through on that journey. I know the quest asks you to follow the river, but it doesn't say swim along it! And why would you? It's full of crocodiles, while the beach is safe.</p><p>I'd say the only point along that route you can guarantee someone will pass through is the actual zone itself, and as I found, even then you don't have to be on the ground. Since it would be too late to have the Iksar spawn just as you zone, I can only suggest a dirty great trigger box right across a large volume of the entire cleft from the zoneline to about a hundred yards back.</p>

<p>Menolly1, faction is not needed for Zixka Slizzis's quests, but her quests are part of the Legion of Danak quest line (and reward that faction), hence why she is placed in their quest camp. You need to complete Lance Corporal Sonoriss's quest, "Heads Off to the Sergeant" to get her quest.</p>

<p>Can some one tell me where to find the fire elemental for the quest Elemental Test? I have been all though the mines and have seen no signs of any. The skellies for Chilled to the Bone quest are near the gash of T'Thelin.</p>

That is as bad as you can get! Killing them at that point will not give you worse faction. It cannot be lowered past that point. Additionally, this is similar to other factions in Kunark where you can gain and lose those factions, no matter what type of pain you think it is.</p>

<p>I have yet to have a fire elemental spawn at the fire pit in the mines. unless there is a trick to getting them to pop, this is going to be a problem once it goes live with all the people tring to get them.</p>

I did it a few days back and had no problem at all. As soon as I entered the room with the lava pit, the fire elemental shot out of the pit and attacked me and I got my update.</p><p>Last night, however, my girlfriend took her Bruiser over there to complete "Elemental Tasks" and there was no sign of the elemental. She was in the exact place where it worked for me but nothing spawned. She even deleted the quest and started again, going to the fire elemental first instead of last, but still nothing.</p><p>She bugged it in game but I thought I'd mention it here too.</p><p>On the plus side, whereas it took me two hours to get the third rock elemental after I got the first two in 5 minutes, my GF got all of hers in one pull.</p>

<p>I found the issue with the magma scolder (fire elemental) needed for Skelbre's quest, "Elemental Tasks". It wouldn't spawn if you had not completed the first step (getting 3 rock elemental samples), despite the fact that the quest did not lock you into completing the steps in order. So, now I have changed the quest to force you into completing the steps in order and made the fire elemental the first step of the quest. That way, all of the Lake of Ill Omen kills are lumped together as steps 2 through 4.</p><p>Thanks again for all the testing!</p>

<p>Doing Elemental Tasks in order worked fine. Fire elemental popped easy. Now to find the air and water mentals.</p><p>Thanks for the heads up on the quest having to be done in order.</p>

<p>In the Swamp Fire Defense quest in Kunzar Jungle, I am having a terrible time trying to find the green sparkle that marks the fourth ward. The quest journal says north of the Outer Seb gate at the end of Trak Alley. I've been all over that area a dozen times with no luck. I found all the other marks just fine, but can't get the fourth at all.</p>

<p>Having no joy finding the rock elementals for the quest Elemental task been up and down lake of ill omen.</p><p>Got the water elemental update from killing one docile water elemental near the yah lei.</p>
