Doesn't change the fact that brawler shard gear sucks compared to plate tanks.

Doesn't do anything for all the other classes faced with similar problems.

Why is it that brawlers didn't get the same level of upgrades as the plate tanks did?

No one knows why and Sony remains completely silent on it.

Mainly because Ranged Double Attack and Ranged Crit are even more powerful than Melee Double Attack and Melee Crit, especially on bosses that have nasty ranged-based AoEs. Rangers don't suffer as much of a DPS loss when they joust AoEs as other scouts do.

I'm not looking at the gift horse too closely. This will make it possible for tanks to have a mixture of T2 and T3 without being hurt too badly. I do hope other set bonuses are forthcoming for other classes, but this was the biggest concern and really messed up progression in the Ward of Elements.

It was really Fighters that got hit the most, since their 5 set bonus was a large boost to their tanking ability.

I don't know, I think I'd have to disagree.

I think the incorrect assumption being made is that someone is wearing "only" Shard armor, which is not the case. Yes, it's more important for a tank because the bonus actually makes the armor itself better. However, other classes have broken bonus progression as well.

My Mystic has been a nightmare of armor aquisition and swapping, trying to keep certain set bonuses while upgrading at the same time.

In the case of Summoners the set bonuses for T2 armor aren't worth keeping if it means you pass on better gear (Better gear > set bonuses). Obviously the same isn't true for every class.
