Hi guys,

I have a level 40 bruiser and have -finally- got together an appearance armor set I really like, but I still need a straw hat to top off the look. The Bloodore DFC set has a straw hat, but it's reddish which doesn't match the rest of my outfit.

A guildie told me there's a straw hat available from a quest in EF so I'd like to try to find the quest and attempt it even though I might be a tad low. Unfortunately he didn't have further info on where - does anyone know?

I did search the wiki but didn't see what I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance.

the straw hat your reffering to I take it is the 'bowl' hat that monks can wear. there are quests that start with pages dropped by mobs, that are called Student's Path: X mob type, that are turned in to an NPC named Dovan Farfall. judging by the name, these quests my be the ones your looking for.

The only hat quest I know of in that zone doesn't give a monk hat as a reward (at least, I don't think it does). It's called Trapfinding.

I have one of those monk hats in my bank. I'll log in and get the name of it for you. It can be worn by anyone and was a quest reward if I recall correctly. I'll post shortly and let you know what it is called.

Thank you very much, Rainmare, M0rticia and Scipius - I had been looking on the wiki prior to posting but the caps I saw didn't appear to be the graphic I want so I didn't know if I was crazy or the person who told me of this item.

I only ever break this character out when a lower-level guildmate wants some company so I won't be seeing Hoo'Loh for a long, long time. Was happy to hear of this graphic available earlier on in a non-red Bloodore shade...lol

The other monk hat you can get from questing is the Reet Warrior's Skull Cap. It's a blue/grey monk hat and anyone can wear it. The quest is in the Kunzar Jungle. You get it from the Synod Reet and it's called 'A Charm Unlike Any Other'. Here's a link to the quest!

Okay, I wanted to update this thread with what I found.

There is a treasured quest reward hat in EF that looks like a bluish colored monk "bowl" hat. It is a reward choice from the quest, Trapfinding in the second camp from Trapper Stu Wart. The item is called Trog Leather Helm and is not listed on the wiki nor Zam as a reward currently. This item is wearable by brawlers, druids and shamans.

Thanks for the update I was hoping you'd found a true "straw hat" (I needed one for a house project lol), but nice to know that there is an interesting hat style available to more than just monks.

It's that rice hat design that they gave to monks in KoS as our "Class Hat/helm" that everyone else got with a unique look.

Ours wasn't unique in the least bit. There were hats in DoF that first used that design, and it didn't even take until EoF the next year before other classes were wearing our "unique" class hat for themselves.

Really sucks, but nothing we can do about it. They've opened up other helmets that share other class helmet designs for other classes to use anyways, so it's a moot point.
