ok, so, I was on my zerker today, tanking through Scion of Ice, easy enough zone, nothing too difficult, mobs don't hit that hard, done it a hundred times<seems that way atleast>.

The catch tho, is that inspite of hate buffs from the dirge, I COULD NOT hold aggro, at all, never happened before.

Second catch-healer, solo heals palace, NA, RR, etc; could not keep me alive pulling more then a single mob, even with using all of my defensive abilities, shield, etc. done this zone many times before with a solo healer, mass pulling DW/OFF the whole way never had ANY of these problems even with no extra buffs.

Anyone else noticed any problems similar recently??? I hope its just me in some ways, and that I just need to figure out what I'm doing wrong, gods know we don't need any nerfing.

Sounds like you had a bad day. It happens.

You don't mention your group makeup. Even with dirge hate buffs, a lot of classes can easily pull aggro.

myself, fury, dirge, wizard, brigand, illusionist

the dirge and brigand were both mythed and well geared, I really don't think anything of that, as the brigand wasn't doing any crazy DPS by comparison, and the wiz was a bit on the weak side with DPS, I was regularly out parsing him. I've had worse group makeups with much better geared and played people before and never had those kinds of issues....

but you may be right, I'll hold off on the concern and see if its a trend or whatnot

Brigands are notorious for stealing aggro. Especially mythical'd ones.

i've had those days where it doesn't make sense, where every swing from the mob seems to connect and you can't avoid any hits even with 78% avoidance. i just chalk it up to some dev spying on me and i move on, the next group/day always seems to be back to normal until that next bad day comes again.

yes, i think it really was just a case of a shotty run, after raids and other events were over, I got back on and went off tanking other zones and had no issues whatsoever. Guess I'm just waiting for the next N--fbat to come our way since we've had it pretty good in TSO LOL!!

not too often but it has happened to me as welll that just seems nothing goes right even when group should be rockin the place, and brigands steal my aghro more than any other class, mobs just hate em

This type thing happens to me all the time and its usually that for some reason I'm in defensive and didnt realize it. I'll be truckin a long tearin my hair out cuz peeps is pulling agro, someone posts a parse and I'm like 2k lower than I should be and i go *SMACK* "dammit i'm in d-stance. [Removed for Content]"

mmmm and brigs do it on purpose. If a brig or other fighter pulls agro i dont care. If its any other dps class i attempt to do better. If they do it 3 mobs in a row I let them die then take it back.

Xalmat wrote:

Brigands are notorious for stealing aggro. Especially mythical'd ones.

my guild brigand steals aggro for fun, if he wants it he can get it, throw in a F-trd brigand i can see frustration.

/sigh, I know all about brigands..back when i had mine, I used to make arrogant takes eat their words all the time, even had a pally say I couldn't take and hold aggro with his master amends on me. Well, long story short, his arrogance left me tanking CMM while he TRIED to get aggro off me.

The worst thing about arrogant brigs taking agro is that when they do decide to drop it it's not always the tank it lands on and can end up getting a poor clothy dps 1 shotted. My personal opinion of these tools is that if they want to tank then they should roll a tank, other than that they need to do their job and stop screwing the group over.

I have found however that brigs do get very anoyed when they use their attack that takes them to the top of the hate list only for me to rescue the mob off them before they get their suprise attack off
