Hi.

I have just done a clean install of Vista 64 and EQ2. On first run it launched the launchpad and started to update then tells me it dosen't work and to go to http://launchpad.station.sony.com/ to down load the launchpad.

At that website I can only see the new beta version not the original.

I don't understand the problem as this has never happened before, and I have re-installed EQ2 quite a few times over the last few years. I tried re-installing the game from a different set of discs (both retail TSO dics) and got the same problem.

I am now trying the beta version to patch the game, but looking at a 11 & 1/2 hour update at the moment, and I have 20 meg cable connection, you have got to open that bandwith up, 11 hours is rediculous amount of time to patch a game this day and age. (Out of curiosity what bandwidth do you allocate per user whilst patching?), anyway...

1. Is the patcher not working correctly at the moment, or do you think it is my installation?

2. If i have to shut down the PC mid patch will i have to start patching again from the beginning?

Greetings,

First off, shutting down the patcher will not lose the progress you have already made. It will resume downloading from the same point you left off. That said, the most common cause for a slow download would be a misconfigured router. Are you using a router in your network connection? If so, you might want to try bypassing it temporarily to see if the speed improved. If the speed improved then we'll need to get that router set up for the game to prevent further issues.

Weird, but the following day the normal patcher worked fine, so i'm using that again.

Can't explain why all this happened, but router is fine, always has been.
