I've got a level 35 Troubie, and I just got through the Wisdom line of the Bard AAs, and I'm a little lost as to where I should put my AAs now.

So what's the best line to go for next in terms of soloing?

The setup Kul posted is pretty much what the majority of troubs use.

Only difference is most of us who raid only put 3 points in posions (you realy don't need anymore than that)

This will free up 5 points for you to get the ability in the STR line Turnstrike, which lets you stay in on some AOE's instead of losing dps from jousting.
im not using any poison just in case you need to mez. AGI or INT line give me the same parse. Why i didnt put 8 aa in Allegro? because i use JC and Twelve Tone earring( http://eq2.zam.com/db/item.html?eq2...C377C6F8040AED7 ) so that give an awsome casting speed.
I would say most would go with the STA line while you are leveling up for the increased defense and use of the Round shield spec. Once you hit 80 just respec to what you want.

Just curious, I went down INT to get Minstrel's Melody, I didn't go down AGI at all.(I'm using STA/WIS/INT for grouping and STR/STA/WIS for raiding)

Why choose Poison Concoction (poison proc) over Minstrel's Melody (increases the attack speed of Allegretto)? I just figured that groups would rather I spent the points in that, but maybe there's something I'm missing hehe.

Kulaf

Well the answer basically revolves around the Troubs role as a caster buffer. Spending AA points outside of abilities that increase your own personal......or your groups DPS is unwise. Haste doesn't have a very good return on investment for AA points. Also don't forget the usefulness of Bump which does damage and puts you in stealth allowing you to use our stealthed attack line.

My troub is actually starting to raid now and I have an AA spec in mind. For raiding, it seems like the general thoughts are STR/AGI/WIS are the best lines on the Bard tree? Seems like it would give the best return on investment with personal and caster DPS in mind.

ON Troub tree I went straight for PoTM 5 and JC 5 filling in DPS stuff there now.

Where you recommend I go for TSO tree?
It really depends how in-depth you want to make your Bladedance spec. Personally all I did was lose enough of the AGI line to fill out the STR line. But you could customize some of the Shadow tree for less offense and more defense if you wanted.

Never used Bladedance on the snake, the AE really isn't all that bad. Did use it for learning Tythus though as his AE's can line up and be pretty nasty. And if course I stil use it when positioning Trak to keep from getting hit with Tail Lash.

Thanks for posting your full solo/raid specs! I can't tell you how much of a headache setting aa lines gives me. There's so much to choose from, and so many ways to go. I finally have a good solo, and a good raid setup on my mirror (though i RARELY raid). So, forgive my next question if the answer is obvious:

Why have 5 points in Bria's Entrancing Sonnet (the charm song). Do you really use it during raids? I can honestly say I never have, but again I hardly ever raid. Is there a better place those 5pts could be spent?

Thanks!

Bladedance on Thet-em-aua is slightly south of pointless. Only encounter it has use I've found is against Field General Uktap.

Pnaxx wrote:

Question......which ones would I do first? I am 63 and certainly not maxed out on AA's, so, which lines first? I think I have AGI right now.

For what it's worth, I filled out the Bard tree first (50 points). Generally you would go 24 points into WIS to get the Harbinger's title and ability (either 4-4-8-6-1 or 4-4-6-8-1, your preference really); followed by 4-4-4-8 in the STA tree for max Fortissimo. That leaves you with 5 points to play with, so 4-1 in AGI isn't a bad idea for Bump. As mentioned above, Cheap Shot -> Brilliant Blade (flanking attack) -> Bump -> Night Strike is now a solid attack chain for solo PvE.

By the time you fill out 50 AAs you should be somewhere in the 40-50 level range in theory, at which point you have 20+ levels before you can put any more points into the Bard tree. So it's your choice where to go from there, really. Personally, I went with the TSO tree first and filled out the General + Scout lines, then onto Troubadour tree. When you hit level 70 and the Bard tree allows an extra 20 points, you might want to consider filling that up asap (as mentioned above, the AGI line is nice, and then choose between either STR or INT lines for that extra attack. STR is a bit more popular I think as it does more dmg and prevents AoE on you, which is good when you start raiding).

Hope that helps.

I'd honestly recommend getting Fortissimo filled out first, it's more bang for your buck when levelling up than Don't kill the messenger. If you're soloing, the added stun from wearing a round shield (if you should feel like it) adds more survivability. Don't Kill the Messenger is great, but it's not gonna make it easier for you to level up. Remember, there's always respec's.
