Where does the new change leave int? Will int still affect poison damage at all or is that just another stat to drop completely?

My guess is it'll be useless since poisons won't be spell based anymore, but only time will tell.

Assuming that is the case, Doesn't the assassin tso set have quite a bit of INT on it? I doubt they are going to update the stats on the set. This change has far more reaching effects than just proc damage.

Predators will see a change to Toxic Expertise, The spell will now improve the base damage of poisons. We're also making adjustments to the Death Mark and Inspired Daring spell lines so that they trigger melee attacks instead of spell based attacks. This is to refocus the combat art back to improved poison damage, rather than the spell crit damage it has been doing.

I didn't really see that when I read this portion of the letter....

Brimestar wrote:

babied we are not,

Not babied? Why is it every time there's a hint of an issue with your class it is fixed at light speed, where other classes wait YEARS (yes I said years) and still don't even get a dev to acknowledge an issue, let alone say they will do anything to fix it?

If the biggest issue facing your class is that some of you can't disarm a chest in Deep Forge.... You must be an Assassin.

It's not being babied, it's just dev's epic fail at trying to balance other classes.

FAIL.

as for the comments about the assassin class being babied... go talk to the SK's and Pally's and find out how the guards and zerks are feeling. better yet, go talk to any brawler. Both the warriors and brawlers will tell you who they feel is "babied" in this game. Or even better still... shut up until you have even the slightest inkling about what it is you believe you think you know. Because i can guarantee you that you are basically regurgitating the same butt-hurt type of response that others ignorantly have been for some time now. you've not engaged your own intellect to create a unique opinion... rather just relying on the masses to guide you... wager you also vote that way too. Go whine elsewhere sheep.

Has any of you gotten a group with a dirge on test to see if the change to Chime of Blades (now critting off of melee crit) has cophensated for the loss of proc damage due to the nerf?

For those assasins in high end gear that have managed to up their spell crit to high levels these changes as a whole may indeed be a hefty nerf. For mid level geared players with out avatar charms and the like, it seems like they may have a minor DPS boost incoming, at least when they have a dirge present in group or raid.

Please note, although i am on test_copy, due to the work week i haven't had a chance to see for myself or really research this to any extent, honestly just asking for any assasin specific feedback in terms of the overall gain/loss to date.

BTW: I have a baby assasin, lvl 47ish, so i have a MINOR understanding of the skill it takes to truelly excell at this and yeah IMO assasins have been babied to some degree, but should, in the greater scheme of things be on par with Wizards who are going to be taking a nasty hit with the changes without anything to make up for it. Playing a summoner as my main.....yeah don't talk to me about about DPS to Utility balence pls, it hurts all deep like.

If you check the Dev tracker, Aeralik did state that poisons will still use Int for damage.
