View Full Version : Game closes after i open it.. trial verson..

<p><span ><span style="color: #ffffff;"> </span><p>Hey, i just spent like 24 hours downloading the trial and the updates.. and when i first opened the game, i got some error message, but i closed it to fast and didn't get to write it down.. and now everytime when i open the game.. it like, loads up for a split second then just closes... no error messages or anything.. im using winxp with sp3.. and my system is above the minimum requirments.. i play WoW everyday on it no problem.. any help would be appreciated <img src="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" /></p><p>Intel(R)</p><p>Celeron(R) CPU 2.60 GHz</p><p>2.60 GHz 760 MB of Ram</p><p>and i have a Geforce 4 64MB graphics card in it</p></span></p>

<p>I just checked and i have the most u p to date Directx.. i was looking in the EQ 2 folder and found this in the EQCrash.txt</p><p>SOEBuild=5627LSOEVersionString=2009/5/14 17:41:53</p><p>EVERQUEST2 CRASH LOG</p><p>and this in the Verifylog.txt</p><p>build="SOEBuild=5627L" version="SOEVersionString=2009/5/14 17:41:53" build_type="USER OPTIMIZED" ls_address="none" zone="<None>" loc="  0.00   0.00   0.00" performance="5" verify="E:liveeq2frameworkcoredevicessrcDirectX9RenderDevi ce.cpp(1367): Failed to create D3D device for NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X. 0099f243"</p><p>Also i noticed when the game first opens.. the window says   "Everquest 2( May 14th).." its clearly not may 14th.. any help please would be appreciated</p>

<p>I would recommend, if you haven't already, updating the drivers for your particular card? Granted, the GeForce 4 MX drivers haven't had an update since late '06, but it may should this case. You can obtain them <a href="http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71_2.html" target="_blank">here</a>.</p><p>Also you mentoned having the latest DirectX version. Do you know if that's the March '09 version or slightly earlier/later?</p>

It changes often due to patches/game updates. It won't ever show today's date because the releases/updates are finalized before they are released to us so they show an earlier date.
