Greetings,

I'm a returning player with the EOF All-In-One on a DvD. My account also has Rise of Kunarkas an entitlement (though I need to download this). I'm curious however that it seems theLaunchpad is trying to download the entire game.I installed EoF to my D:Games folder and when I started the Launchpad it began patching(which was expected). Problem is it created the following folders on my "C:" drive:

C:KeyboardsC:MilesC:paksC:UIit also put the following files in the root of my C: drive:

C:EverQuest2Patch.logC:lp_dldat.ctlC:lp_lang.txtC: lp_options.xmlC:lp_rgn.txtC:PatchCache2.xml

So far it has been running for 5 hours and says there are 4 hours remaining. Total downloadedso far is 3.8 GB. Looking in C:paks, I see it has the same files (and sizes) as where I actuallyinstalled the game: D:GamesEverQuest IIIf I already installed EoF (7.8 GB), why is the Launchpad trying to redownload the entire game?Furthermore, why is it littering my root drive (C:) with these files?

Edit:

Forgot to mention:

Windows XP Pro, SP3 and yes, running as an Administrator. Also this is a fresh install of EQ2 ona clean install of XP

Greetings,

I figured out what the problem was. I had been using Wise Installation Studio Pro. 9 to do a setup capture anddidn't realize it was still running in the background. It appears to have a conflict with certain types of setupprograms. I'm pretty sure it caused the problem.I removed all traces of EQ2 from my machine (including the registry) and reinstalled, making sure Wise wasn'trunning and it worked correctly.

If a similar issue occurs in the future then you can simply move all of those files to the C:GamesEverquest 2 directory. The game does not require any registry entries to operate so you can cut and paste it where ever you want. You don't need to install the game to a certain directory and keep it there. That should cut down on the update times. Please let me know if you have any questions.
