Specs:

* Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad * ASUS P6T Deluxe LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX * Sapphire ATI Radeon 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 * Corsair 6gb ram * Corsair 750W PSU * Windows Vista 32bit (going to move to windows 7, so didn't want to pay extra for 64bit now) Drivers: * ATI Driver: 8.612-090428a-080268C-ATI Catalyst Version 09.5, 8.01.01.899 * Direct3D: 8.14.10.0662 (Directx 10) * OpenGL: 6.14.10.8664 Temps: * Steady for all cores in the upper 40s * CoreTemp and Speedfan show some fans aren't working, but I see them spinning, so.. * Not sure about video card temp, working on rivatuner... Problem: * Full system hard freeze * No errors or BSOD * Only while playing video games Diagnostics already done: * AVG/ad-aware ok * Defrag & HD Tune are ok, no bad sectors To-Do: * Uninstall all video card drivers and redo catalyst install * Figure out how to get rivatuner to sync with my video card * Memtest Randomly freezes constantly while playing video games such as Everquest 2. I can be logged in for a few minutes and then it freezes the entire system. I'll have to hard reboot to bring it back up. Otherwise I have no issues, can watch movies, do regular tasks like browsing and whatnot without any issues. So I believe it is my video card, but it's just a hunch based on what I've already said.

Basically I can run around for about 2-3 minutes before I get a full system freeze and have to reboot. No errors, no BSOD, just a freeze. I had this problem last month and upgraded the drivers and it got better for a brief time... now it's unbearable again. It got even worse after I upgraded my video card drivers, I think.

What should I do?

Update:

I uninstalled my drivers & did a reinstall of catalyst and also used "Advanced System Care" which checked for registry errors. So far I was able to play for 6 hours with no crashes, so... fingers crossed... all good. Not sure which fixed it, maybe both, but... just thought I'd update in case anyone had a similar issue.
