Hey, new player here.

I started a froglok monk with the intention of betraying to become a bruiser. Mostly because I'd heard that bruisers were better for soloing.

I plan to mostly solo. I'm especially attracted to the brawlers' ability to delve deeper into dungeons and solo boss mobs that I've read about. I also enjoy taking on multiple mobs at once. (I love the cobra strike!)

At level 14 I finished my Neriak citizenship and became a bruiser. I didn't expect how much the froglok martial arts animations of the monk would add to my enjoyment, and I was disappointed when I took on the more street-thug bruiser style animations.

So my question is, do bruisers get more kung-fooey animations later on? And if not, are they _so_ much better than monks (particular at solo dungeon-diving) that I should just get used to the thuggish animations? Or can I return to my monkly ways and still enjoy the playstyle I'm hoping for?

Thanks!

Well the kong-funess style you are looking for might just be the weapons you are using. i know as a bruiser myself i love it more than my monk (ended deleting the monk). i know that when i used batons/quarterstaffs it was more of them hitting the mob and less kicks. in the past when the AA double attack buff required no weapons i was more punches and kicks. so i could be just the weapons you are useing. if you want more of the punches and kicks i would recommend buying some low lvl fist raps from the broker and see if that is what you are looking for (for apperance of course).

it also might just be your lvl. at 14 you dont have your "one hundred hands" combat art that is a sortal kung-fu combo attack. i dont realy know i did not ever really notice the different attack looks.

Try getting a Bo Staff. that'll give you a bit of a snazzy animation.

Generally though, the bruiser takes up more of a boxer style animation, where the monk is more of a "Kung Fooey" stance.

Thanks all, I'm up to level 20, and I think the bruiser animations are going to do me just fine. Getting kick upgraded to flying kick gave me a second jumping spin kick that I lost when cobra strike changed to the bruiser AE. The punches are pretty street-brawlerish, but maybe a burly frog will be as fun as a kung-fooey frog.

I tried fighting with batons, and that was pretty fun too.

Feign death is crazy!
