Anybody else get this? If so is there a fix? I am using the fetishnightfall UI.

Greetings,

Does your resolution size change dramatically when switching between windowed and full screen modes? I believe the game uses the corner of screen as the reference point for UI elements so major changes in resolution will push things around. Try setting your windowed resolution to equal you full screen resolution and let me know if you get the same result.

It happens no matter how small a change switching from full to windowed is, when you switch back to fullscreen many of your windows will be out of alignment. This has been an issue since launch. The game knows where things should be because if you do /load_uisettings and select the character your own's profile after switching back to full screen it will properly restore everything to their rightful place. However if you've changed anything at all while it was in windowed mode such as dragging a bag window at all then its screwed.

EQ2 is the only game ever I've seen such alignment issues with going from fullscreen to windowed and back. For me some window elements will move drastically (minimap, maintained spells window, chat windows, bags) other will never have a problem and always realign properly when going back to fullscreen (hotbars, beneficial/detremintral effects, group window.)

For some reason I am not getting emails that someone replied, sorry for not responding sooner.

My Screen Resolution is 1440 X 900 and my game resolution is 1440 X900

What happens for me is that my hot bars are out of alignment left and right just enough to see them staggered. All of my bags end up on top of each other so it looks like I have 1 bag open. I real pain to reset, unlocking the bag/hotbar window moving them and locking them again.

If this means anything, I have 5 hotbars open, when I am in windowed mode one row is layered ontop of the rest, so unless I reset those, playing in windowed mode is impossible.

:0)

Using the /load_uisettings command, as mentioned above, is actually a decent workaround for this issue. If you are constantly changing between windows and full screen then you can simply set a hotbar icon for that command so you don't need to keep retyping it. Granted, it isn't a fix, but it should make the problem easier to manage.

lol, ended up placing my bags vertically instead of horzontally now, when I alt/tabbed it rearranged my bags where I didn't mind it. I then rearranged my other stuff accordingly and I just let EQ2 have its way. it centers them vertically for some reason on the side I have them and my hotbars are then not affected. Knock on wood... I can live with that.

Good to hear you managed to wrestle the game into an agreeable position!

When you set the game to windowed most, is it a drastic reduction in screen size or still 1440x900 ?

It almost fits my whole screen, it is maybe 95%, if that is what you mean. How do you check you windowed resolution mode? In EQ2 options, resolution is greyed out and states "resolution and refresh rate when running in full screen"?

I am curious if it is a widescreen thing, EQ2 didn't always support widescreen right?

I'm fairly certain that the only way to tell (or adjust) the windowed resolution would be go do so by modifying one of EQ2's specific .ini files.

I'd have to get confirmation from a developer in regards to the widescreen question. Unless there's an old timer EQ2 veteran around here that knows.

It didn't. It use to be vertical sync so it would stretch out things to make it fit the screen. since 16:10 or 9 is pretty much the monitor standard now with LCDs they changed it to be horizontal sync. (I may have it backwards but regardless it works now.)

In windowed mode the resolution is the desktop resolution. What KenC is trying to say by matching it is making the footprint of the window stretch across the whole of the viewable screen. The resolution setting should be greyed out in windowed mode.

You might also notice the game image brighten and/or change colors slightly. Thats because in windowed mode the game must use the desktop RBG and gamma values where in fullscreen it has (very oddly) its own settings (which are way off from standard calibration gamma.)
