Hey all,

I recently got a shiny sparkly new computer, and naturally want to bring Everquest 2 onto it. I went to get the install file, no problem, so far so good.

Now, most of you probably see this coming, but i'm running Vista (64 bit) and, well, it's been mildly problematic. I'm uncertain if the issue is Vista-based or something else.

When I run the launcher, it starts downloading stuff like it should. it finishes downloading "_aunchpad.exe", then moves on to "loading graphics" which is where I get the error. A window pops up, telling me Window: "EverQuest II LaunchPad" Images could not be loaded.

I click "OK" and it closes down.

So... any ideas? I set it to run as administrator, it's set to run as Windows XP SP2, and I'm not able to figure out how to turn off UAC, as some posts reccomend (At least, I can't do it from control Panel -> Security center)

All and any help is appreciated

To turn off UAC:

1. Control Panel

2. User Accounts and family safety (or just user accounts if you're in classic view)

3. Click the option to turn user account control on or off

4. Uncheck the box and click ok

5. Reboot

I run Vista 64 and have never had any issues running any game. Hopefully someone else can give you some suggestions on how to get everything working for you. Good luck!

Turning off UAC is indeed what did it for me. Now I'm trying to deal with hte huge download time. I wish I had known I could just hook in my other computer and transfer everything before I was down to three hours on a 13-hour download!

While that information might have come too late to help this time, at least you'll be prepared the next time this comes up. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
