Having read your 'stickies' I PM'd you with a question. However, realising that the PM header was something I never looked at, I appreciate that my message has probably escaped your notice so, in the circumstances, I wonder if you, or indeed anyone with more experience than me (won't be hard ) could provide me with an answer.

In your stickies you state that the greatest damage comes from the auto attack and this got me wondering why, then, would one need to go down the Battle Cleric line?

Given my lack of experience and knowledge I am no doubt missing something but, given that auto attack is our main damage dealer, would it not make more sense to forget the battle cleric line and go down the lines that increase the damage which auto attack and our damage spells do (presumably str and int)?

PS. I should point out that I am lvl 17 atm.

Im a little confused by your use of the wording. We're not Battle Clerics. We're just druids haha.

Now if you're talking about the warden AA line that converts our spells into combat arts...

That is really just a necessary evil which is needed to get to the end line that gives 75% melee crit chance. This applies to all melee actions including both auto attack and combat arts. I say go the melee crit first because without high crit as a meleeing priest we are absolutely nothing. All the other modifications to our autoattack is just icing on the cake, but you always start with a crit attack so its necessary to obtain the crit before focusing on other areas like double attack and weapon damage bonus.

Hope that helps some.

Also, just because our greatest damage may come from autoattack, we still get better damage from our ca's then our nukes. Also any increase in damage is good anywhere. I dont consider the CA's a nececssary evil. They allow us more flexiblity and up our damage as well as are a lot more fun then nuking, IMO. lol.

Using ca's instead of nukes also allows us to time our heals or attacks easier between autoattacks since the CA's are shorter casting then nukes. Especially if you using a longer delay weapon like the Thex Mallet or the Hammer of Hard Knocks (i think it's called) from the X2. It has an 8 second delay so even hasted gives you plenty of time to use the group CA or group regen inbetween autoattacks.

Now personally, I do keep the dot/debuff spell instead of the CA version because I consider the debuff more important then the damage and if it gets parried as a ca, the full timer is in effect for recast. If it gets resisted as a spell, it only has the short resist recast timer.

For a raid the debuff is not that important if you have brigands ect debuffing cold damage but solo it does up the damage I do with the heat/cold ca's and the proc from offensive stance.
